The appeal of the nation Japfetish

Forced Democracy
11-03-2005, 15:30
Greetings,

I have posted this appeal in the "Illegal Name thread", since Japfetish was a member of the much discussed and targeted Isle of Lesbos. However, I have gotten no reply to my appeal, and since Japfetish is a nation of it's own I thought it would be appropriate to post my own appeal thread - I hope that this will not be frowned upon since it is not, nor has it ever been, my intentions to brake the rules of this game.

My primary, humble Nationstate Japfetish has been deleted due to it's flag and a pun as its national animal as well as currency. I have a few things to say in my defence.

As for the flag, I claim that it was merely an image depicting the Red Rising Sun of Japan (as in the original Japanese flag), modified with a square shaped piece of brown chocolate to it's left, that may or may not have led your minds to percieve it as something offending. Some may have percieved it as a fuzzy depiction of the male genetalia, but that would be going quite far with your own imagination; it was merely a square of brown and a circle of red. And still, do you not think that I could have been given a warning instead of seeing my precious nation deleted because of this? After such a warning, could you not have just changed the flag into the standard one and put my nation 'under watch' or whatever it is that you do?

As for the national animal 'female': According to Wikipedia.org (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female): "Female is a sex that denotes an animal which produces egg cells in order to reproduce". That my national animal was 'female' did not mean that it was the human female, but that it was of an unknown species, but of female gender. If you still found this to be offensive, could you not have warned me and forced me to change it?

The currency, the 'clam', refers to the historical fact that in the days of old, in some primitive societies, clam shells were in fact used as currency.

Please, take my arguments into consideration while evaluating my appeal. Thank you for your time. If you decide to have my Nation restored, I give you my word that you will not have any problems with it ever again. (Even if you do not choose to restore it, I also give you my word that you will naturally not have any problems with me as a NationState player, and any of my puppet nations [Forced Democracy and Slaverunners]. It was as said never my intention to violate the rules.)

For the record, I am the Moderator handling this case.

Your flag appeared to depict a penis with a condom covering the head. While a warning might be in order, a deletion-without-warning is also justified just for this one offense.

Claiming that that was a bit of brown chocolate to the left is highly implausible given the other offenses present.

Whether or not something is an offense, and how severe that offense is, depends in part upon your intent. If NationStates Moderators have to guess at your intent, then that gets you into trouble.

My official guess is that you intended it to refer to human females. Given the other responses present, this judgment stands.

The currency, the 'clam', refers to the historical fact that in the days of old, in some primitive societies, clam shells were in fact used as currency.
False. The currency was the "cameltoe", which is a euphemism for "vagina".

In addition to the above, the national motto was "Ye submissive animals bid slurpeth thy body fluids".

(Even if you do not choose to restore it, I also give you my word that you will naturally not have any problems with me as a NationState player, and any of my puppet nations [Forced Democracy and Slaverunners]. It was as said never my intention to violate the rules.)
Given the evidence, my previous conclusion still stands: It was your deliberate intention to violate NationStates rules.

Your appeal is denied. Furthermore, I will consult with an Admin to see if I can issue an official warning against you for deliberately trying to mislead NationStates Moderators.
