Just out of my own curiosity.. If some one started a thread like that but lets say about Iran, Iraq, Syria, would it also be locked and considered flamebait in the same way? I agree it was flamebait, but I'm just curious, if a mod could answer I would be grateful, thank you.
Let's clarify further, if we can. If someone were to post a thread suggesting that the Moderators are biased therefore incapable of performing their duties as required by the owner of the site, would that constitute flamebait?

I think it's apples and oranges to what I was asking Trenzor, but lets see if a mod replies to our questions. Although I can tell you as a former moderator that the mods do get accused of it all the time. Mostly they just ignore it. Of course I am not a mod either any more. But that was pretty much our old policy, not sure if it's changed.

We ask that you please refrain from speculating on policy.
As to the matter at hand, we frown upon any thread that exists merely to serve as a "hate thread" towards any nationality, be they Americans, Canadians, British, Iraqi, or Zimbabweans.

Oh okay Scolo, didn't mean to act like a mod when I'm no longer one. Hey, it's not like I daily give out advice with big bright disclaimers saying I'm not a mod or any thing, that would be much more annoying, I know. But yes sir, I shall refrain from giving out mod advice as I'm not a mod (or no longer one any more)
Also, thanks for the clarification about the hate threads. :)

We haven't always cracked down on every thread in the past, but that is the policy on the matter, IIRC. Sometimes it is difficult to sort out a distinction between hate and dislike of policy, but we try our best. (Login OPSEC Status: Low[Insecure].)
Trez, Steph... don't go looking for trouble, please... let sleeping dogs lie.

Who is this "we"? Are you a moderator using a puppet, or somebody else just using "we" to mean the NS forum community in general?

Tahar Joblis is in fact a Moderator ... although his title doesn't seem to reflect that. Most odd.

He doesn't seem to be on the list of mods in the thread about that either...
Most confusing.

Odd indeed, Tsar. Odder still he felt he had to get after two people who had obviously not taken anything further towards this 'looking for trouble' he's talking about, especially given the leeway most folks have in posting their opinions or speculations or questions on the forums. Didn't look to me like either one was kicking puppies around, but hey what do I know - I'm not a mod.

(Well, to clarify, I wasn't "acting as moderator," just offering personal advice as someone familiar with the individuals at hand. When you see something from me on another account - it's purely personal.)

A-ha!
That makes much more sense now.
