Are we encouraged/allowed to use that little "Report Button" (that little red triangle next to the online status indicator on each post), or should we just make a new topic in the Moderation forum about each offensive/spam post? I've never heard about it before. I clicked on it by accident recently and have been curious ever since.

I too wander at its purpose.
Does it give just that forums moderators a warning? Or does it send one to all the Jolt mods/admins?

I believe it goes to all Jolt moderators / admins. In my case, it goes to a filter in my emailbox and goes unnoticed for a while, but I am constantly reviewing the Moderation forum for new topics. I'd say, "don't use it."

I think I heard something about it reporting to the Jolt admins or something like that.

You're right; report forum violations here on the forums, in-game violations via the GHP.
