Seriously, %75 of the posts in this thread are basicaly people saying "America/religion is stupid", no debate needed.

To support this point:
Wrong. Creationism was torn to shreds a long time ago.
biblical creationists are dumb because they hold to a belief that is wrong.
you are dumb for not realising this.
Ein Deutscher']This "epic battle" seems to happen in the US only. Shows the rest of the world what kinda people live there... a nation of fundamental christians, who take the bible much too literally.

If this isnt trolling, what is?

Fass is right [the science doesn't support creationism at all and it's hardly trolling to state that] and isn't being obnoxious by saying so, however, the other two are trolling. Thread locked.

While there were one or two instances of trolling in this thread, the majority was an intelligent and well argued discussion of the scientific status of Darwinian Evolution (a theory) only and the counter theory of creationism. Is it possible to petition that the trollers be warned and the thread unlocked to allow the discussion to continue?

1. Evolution is theory AND fact.

2. Creationism is not a theory in the scientific sense because it has no predictive ability or mechanism.

3. There are plenty of other creation vs evolution threads that do not contain large amounts of anti-American trolling and name-calling, it's easy enough to move the debate to one of those or start a new thread that doesn't contain flamebait.

I have yet to see the thread in question, so I don't know the details. Making a statement I don't agree with does not amount to trolling by any means. However, since I think that "science does not support Creationism" is an outright, no-holds-barred lie, I sometimes wonder how well the moderator team is at keeping their personal opinions out of forum content. I am assuming of course that the thread is in general.

See I didn't know this. If a thread degenerates badly maybe it is time to kill it mercifully.

But please don't state something as a fact when it is still up for debate, i.e. evolution. That's censorship.

OK on points 2 and 3.
1. I disagree, but here is not the place for that.

I'm not required to keep my personal opinions out of forum content, only to make sure they don't interfere with my duties as a moderator.

To get General forumy for a moment, an appeal to the divine is the antithesis of the scientific method [because God is a variable which cannot be measured or predicted and therefore is not useable in an empirical theory with predictive powers], therefore science [or more correctly the scientific method] cannot support creationism because it does just that.
