It's an opposite of Elect. You're either one or the other, you can't have an Elect without a Reprobate.

The problem is not the terms being used. The problem is that you are making malicious statements against another NationStates players. The NationStates Terms and Conditions specifically forbid posting malicious material.

I'm going to politely suggest that if you insist on telling folks constantly that they are going to hell just because they don't believe the same way you do, that you will continue to get comments saying like things back to you.

If you want to be left alone, don't bait other people. It's pretty simple. If you feel you must proselytize, in spite of the fact that you have claimed you don't believe in it, then be prepared for other people to defend their beliefs just as strongly as you are proclaiming yours.

Such responses may not always be pleasant, but then, a lot of your responses to other people, however polite you may think them given your frame of reference, haven't been either.

Just my observations - take it for what it's worth.

First off, I didn't say that in response to the term reprobate, reprobate doesn't have much meaning either way.

I said that in response to your obvious belief that you are destined to engage in a great war and slaughter many of the people who share this Earth with you. It is my honest opinion of anybody who would have this belief and has nothing to do with religion.

I think it would be more worthwhile for you to use the Jolt ignore feature if so many people disagree with you, and you can't handle the strong emotional responses coming back at you for your opinions.

Actually, you used the reprobate term twice during your initial post. I'm not saying you shouldn't have I'm just pointing it out.

I find your entire thread to be offensive, VE. If you were aiming that at a few specific people, I would suggest you get their IM addresses and keep it in private if you don't want a bunch of people insulting you back -- because that is what that thread is, an insult. To everything. Religious and not religious.
I cannot fathom, at all, how you could possibly think that you could post a thread like that and not have a bunch of people come in and talk to you like that. I just cannot believe that you could think that. You'd likely get a response like that in most forums, but the General forum is one of the least civilised places I've ever seen -- it was CERTAIN that you'd get a response like that. You seem like a fairly intelligent person, so I don't understand how you could possibly have such poor judgement in this scenario. The old 'if you can't stand the fire...' cliché immediately comes to mind. I know I will never post my own true beliefs anywhere near this forum, because people such as yourself and those who insulted you who feel a need to 'explain' why I am wrong would probably jump in and 'explain' it to me.

Notice that although I consider it a phenomenal insult to everything in the entire universe, I haven't gone and complained about it to the moderators. Nor have I gone off and created a thread to state what I think of 'Calvinists' in an offensive manner similar to your own. Just something to think about.

I am especially curious that you could actually be offended by those you view as 'beneath' you, certainly to the degree that you would waste your time reporting anybody at all. Surely, according to your beliefs, that would be like being offended by an animal?
In fact I'm completely confused as to why you feel a need to talk about this to anyone at all, considering how little you apparently think of everybody else. As you've said yourself, they cannot be 'saved', thus explaining it to them is an essentially irrelevant task. That's like telling a cow that it's going to be slaughtered in a week, then adding, "oh, by the way, there's nothing you can do about it. I just told you because I felt like crushing all your hopes. See you; have fun!" What's the point? Especially considering the response you will invariably get?

why don;t the mods parse the boards more often, they just reprimand the right wingers they disagree with. If you went into some of the political and religioon based threads more often, you would have far fewer NSers on this forum (due to banning)

It is not about politics or favoritism or anything like that. There are left-wing Moderators and there are right-wing Moderators. They're all held to the same standard, and that is to deal with folk who just can't resist the urge to flame, troll, spam and otherwise cause trouble.

A lot of the issues that get attention from the Moderators tend to be hot topics, and some of them seem guaranteed to degenerate into flaming like religion, politics and racism. If you like to assert your religious/political/racist viewpoint as superior to all others, you're going to have trouble keeping in line with this forum's TOS. If you feel your right to free speech is being oppressed, then I suggest you find another forum to expound your free speech. This forum is not covered by the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States.

To summarise: if you can't behave yourself, you should go somewhere else. Don't blame the Mods doing their jobs.

I love it when people claim censorship against one side, then want us to censor the other guy.
