You can't deal with that? If it were a string of cuss words and threats, that might be a problem. But this? Come on...

Hey, if others can complain about things like this, why can't I?

Of course, you can, but its pointless. Just because he made a very, very minor insult. If that hurts you, never recruit.

I guess that depends on how you view it. I think under the circumstances, publicly calling me a slang-term for 'penis' is over the top.

Let's leave it for the mods to decide.

Whether or not it's cussing and obscenities, flaming is flaming, imo.

Yeah...but common sense is common sense...and being too sensitive is being too sensitive as well...

Look. I realize it can be difficult, especially when folks are trying to get under your skin, to try and be the bigger person and let some things go. Yes, I do believe there are lines out there that probably ought not be crossed, and when they are, ought to be dealt with appropriately.

'Putz', however, just doesn't seem to come close. Not when compared to a lot of things that get said. It's like calling someone a jerk, a dick, what have you. Yes, I realize the connotations of the word, but honestly. Is it really worth getting that bent out of shape over?

Take for example this random bit to put things into perspective:

Rather than just saying 'Putz', this person tells you that for your family's sake, you should go get out the vodka, pop a bunch of pills, and off yourself for the greater good on account of you are such a waste of human flesh, and are obviously only causing harm by your continued worthless existence.

Now that just might be something worth getting concerned over. A bit of gradeschool name-calling, I would think, for anyone with a bit of maturity, can likely be shrugged off.

Then again, your mileage may vary ... not everyone has the same idea about what constitutes 'maturity' and 'limits' after all.

Putz is slang for penis? Christ, I never knew that.

My last name is Potts so you can guess that I have been called Putz a few times in my life.

*sticks up for Dobbs*

Look...if it bugs Dobbs, it bugs Dobbs, and period. Leave it to moderation.

I don't think it's just slang, I think it may be Yiddish or Hebrew... Don't know, though. Whether or not it's worthy of a thread, I dunno.

Ahh! Sorry for threadjacking. Now back to your regularly scheduled moderation.

Sorry but the word 'putz' means a fool or idiot. If you take it in the vulgar sense, which I didn't mean, it does mean penis.
