Home network, two players

As I have just been reading the innocent deletion thread here, I thought I had better ask this question.

Both myself (Alien Born) and my wife (Matriarchiveness) have nations. At the moment neither of us are members of the UN, though it is conceivable that we may join at a later date.
We access the game through a DSL modem that links our small home network to the internet. Does this mean that we will be interpreted as being the same person?
If so, is this likely to cause us any problem?
And if it is, what can we do to avoid it?

It will cause a problem if both connect through the same modem.
It will turn up on a scan for UN multis, I believe. Most likely, both nations would be ejected from the UN.
Is there anything you can do about it? I'm not quite sure, you'll have to wait for a mod to answer that.

Thanks Neo. Yes it is the same modem. A hub is much cheaper than a second DSL modem and a second phone line here.

... and a cable gateway router is cheap enough (under $40) and gives enough added protection that you should toss your hub in the garbage.

Would do if we had cable, we don't. I live in the third world sob sob
+ $40 is lots of loolah here.
