Because I've been having all sorts of annoyingness happen. Especially when trying to do a post search by name. Those were taking forever...

No, just things taking several minutes to load ... I have ADSL for goodness' sake! Rrr. I hadn't considered that it might be a server problem instead of something on my end, though - it bears investigating.
