Your post was irrelevant to the thread and borderline trolling.

And that is rubbish. It was not irrelevant as I was responding to a previous post nor was it trolling.

It is a statement of fact.

As for irrelevence to the thread you will take the same action to all the rest who replied to the thread who did not reply in the positive to the question?

This guy was seeing if anyone out there has the same beliefs as him. There was no need for you to comment and tell him that the ideology is dead. Your post had no relevance to it.

I am not denying that part. But then Myrth ought to have made the same warning to everyone who did not reply in the positive instead of singling me out.

But then Myrth ought to have made the same warning to everyone who did not reply in the positive instead of singling me out.So you're aggressively calling him out and challenging him? The way I read this thread is that you're ready to put him over your knee and spank him. If I were him I would have passed it off to another Mod for review before giving an official response.

A little courtesy goes a long way, regardless of how you feel you've been provoked. Try it sometime.

Yep.I apologise for my discourtesy. However, my observation stands. I regret if this offends you, but demonstrating hostility toward the Mods is never a good way to accomplish anything constructive.

Making comments in practically every thread about the supposed 'inconsistency' among the mods, saying "We know what I would say about..." really isn't needed. We get the picture that you don't like the moderators. Doing so adds nothing to the original purpose of the thread.

Actually, it does, because hopefully people will become aware of the pattern. When enough people start complaining, maybe [violet] will decide to descend from the heavens and do something.

It's no different than the 10 million "I hate Bush" threads out there.

;) Yes, do please keep spamming Moderation with your "mod inconsistency" posts which have nothing to do with the original topic at hand -- it only makes your motives very obvious to the rest of the forum.

If the administration was unhappy with the way the mods are handling things, they've had close to two years to change it. I've yet to see any accusation of mod bias, inconsistency, or favoritism pan out in those two years.

Edit: Kat beat me to it.

There are probably less than 100 regular readers of Moderation, and I daresay all of us know your position. I'd even go so far as to say that most of us probably disagree with you, based on the various responses I've seen.

Mods: Somebody created an Official "I hate the UN" thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=351794), which did a decent job of keeping all the irrelevant idiocy in one place. How about an Official "I hate the Biased Moderators" topic here?

I would have hoped my motives would have been obvious a long time ago...
Get rid of the crap on this forum. Or at least stop trying to maintain the facade that there isn't any crap.
Crap aside, I think the hypocracy and inconsistency are the worst part.

And if you think I care to be a mod, sure, I think it would be nifty, but I'm not trying to become one. And I would think that if I really wanted to become a mod, I'd be sucking up to you, not pissing you off.

Quite frankly, I just want to have fun. There's too much crap and not enough fun on this board.

And how is it off topic if I'm pointing out the mod inconsistency in that particular thread? The only reason I don't name it specifically is because I'm lazy, and it usually seems pretty obvious to me, so I'm not going to insult the intelligence of those reading my posts by outlining everying point by point.

Yes, and if I posted it in "General" it'd get moved here, so I'll just have to post where I can. At least this way I'm not making any offenses. I'm annoying as hell, I'm sure, but I haven't done anything deatable.
And the reason everyone here disagrees with me is because everyone else is DoS, banned, or knows when to keep their mouth shut. You should be happy that I'm not like Japaica: I may be annoying as hell, but I don't do anything wrong, which means all you have to do is read my annoying posts, instead of cleaning up after me.

Most people who dislike the mods go for a suicide-by-mod to piss y'all off. Would you rather me do that? Cuz I'm sure I could stir up quite a bit of trouble for y'all before you deated me...and in case you haven't noticed, there are ways around your DoS, so I'm sure I could stir up even more trouble. So while you curse my incessent criticism, be glad that that's all it is.

Eh, I didn't say it wasn't fun at all. It's just not nearly as much fun as it used to be and could be. And it passes time. It's this or "Spongebob", and between the two...

And while there are plenty of other forums out there, only NS has such a huge membership, at least, that I know of. With the crap gone, this could be the most fun forum there is.

The way you're going about this is not going to effect the change you want. I would guess that the best response you're going to get is a rolling of the eyes and a pat on the head. "Yes, it's RhynoD again. So what else is going on?"

If your choices are SpongeBob and Nationstates, my suggestion to you is "none of the above." Mind you, if you really like charging at windmills I certainly can't stop you. But I thought it prudent to at least point out that the giants aren't what you think they are.

Well, this would be the only way to get things done around here: you complain to the mods.
So I complain to the mods. Nothing happens.
I complain some more...Nothing happens...

What, my enlightened friend, do you suggest I do to get some change? I can't see anything working short of hacking the mod accounts (which I wouldn't do, even if I could...again, I'm annoying, not stupid), or inciting a riot (assuming I could actually rally people to my side without getting DoSed...and anyway, you could deat us all so that's pointless).
So, if you have any ideas, by all means share, but I haven't gotten any from anyone so far, so I'm going with what I know.

And while Don Quixote may have been insane, at least he had some integrity.

No, but I do recall him being used as metaphor for Spain at the time, clinging to chivalry in the face of modernization and such. Key word there being "chivalry."

And anyway, the whole point of charging the windmills was to rescue some damsel he imagined. I'd call that integrity.

In any case, this isn't the place, is it? Don't accuse me of being off-topic when y'all do the same thing.

I would stop complaining to and about the Mods. I would then start talking to them.

The Mods are, ultimately, human just like the rest of us. What's more, they're caught between the thankless of job of running the forums the way the forum owner (Max Barry) wants it run and dealing with player complaints and requests. If you've seen the numbers posted in the Mod Olympics, you can guess that they've got a lot of work to do for precisely zero compensation.

If you talk to them, you'll learn a little bit (not a lot; they're good about keeping secret the things they're supposed to keep secret) about how things work and the constraints they work under. You'll possibly be able to make some suggestions they'll be able to use; you'll probably make a lot of suggestions they can't for one reason or another.

In the end you probably still won't see the changes you want. But you might have a greater appreciation of why.

The only thing I can gaurantee is that if you keep baiting them the way you are, you'll accomplish nothing whatsoever. The squeaky wheel doesn't just get the grease; sometimes it gets removed entirely.

The squeaky wheel is precisely what I'm trying to remove.

And I have, in fact, tried that exact method, to no avail. I was actually ignored more readily than I am now.

And I DO have appreciation for what they do. I really do. But do you really want me to recount my tragedies of life? Life sucks, get over it. I really couldn't care less how tough their job is: if they can't do it, they can't do it, and no amount of sympathy is going to change that.

Actually, I'd think if it really was as biased and unfair as you say it is here, most of the players would've left already... yourself included.
