Mod Impersonation

Don't the mods frown upon someone pretending to have the authority to issue warnings and such?

Speaking of that thread, I would like to apologize for it. It was a joke when I said that I wasn't breaking any rules by calling it "not spam". I am sorry that my spammish thread was an inconvenience to such fine moderators as yourself.

At least they could've spelled Moderator correctly. ;)

The correct spelling is probably a deleted nation. I think this player has impersonated before.

Yeah, the correct spelling was a deleted nation. As I recall, it's deletion caused some havoc with genuine Voice-of-Mod telegrams. Of course, it's now been fixed, so you can't give a nation that name, anymore.

About what got Mutant Dogs deleted:
Is it wrong to say something like:
"That was a bit uncalled for. Flaming is against the forum rules (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=381334).
Please refrain from doing so in the future."

Because I've said things like that a few times before. Should I have added a line saying "-Not a mod" or something? Should I not do things like that anymore at all?

Read the linked post. He attempted to issue an official warning. Only a Moderator may do this. He was therefore impersonating a Moderator.

As for your suggested quote, I'd suggest "I've seen the Mods warn people for this sort of thing, before." and then link to the ruling or a previous case where a Mod acted.

Ah, thank you for clarifying. I wouldn't want to be accidentally breaking the rules, especially not while trying to explain to others how to follow them.

Just to make sure... Mutant Dogs or any incarnations of his are now DoS?

I'm pretty sure Dogs isn't that stupid...If I had to guess, I'd say he was just asking them to deat it before he came and got a mod...

But then, I haven't read the whole thread, so whatever...

Did he ever reseaved some kind of warning?

Well, seeing as he's lost at least two nations already, I'd assume this might be a case where the mods just dealt with it.

The mods usually deat on first offense for impersonating a mod. He was warned for flaming silmutaneous to being deated for impersonation, though, according to Hack's post in the thread.

His latest incarnation also had a warning tag already.

I'd say he had more than enough warnings.
