Impersonation from behind the grave?

Hi!
I have one question: i have seen in this game that some times one nation takes a name that is like the name of another to try and seem like they are the same. I have read that this is against the rules. But what happens when a nation is made which has a very similar name to a nation which is no longer alive? In other words is it an offence to take a name very like a dead nation? Can it be a crime to impersonate, from behind the grave? Or to make regions which try to seem that they belong to players who are no longer in nationstates? I have seen a couple of these things. thank you

Names of former nations cannot be re-used (well, it can but that doesn't matter here), so sometimes people wil try to make a name tha looks like it, I personally don't think it is impersonation, but that;s up for the mods to decide (and depends on what the nation in question does).

One person above asks for examples. well, on these forums i have seen many people mention the now deleted nation "proidgal fenian". I did not play nationstates when he was also playing, but i have read on the forums about it. So, to answer the question about examples, what if someone made a nation "prodigal fenian 2" or "prodigal fenian is back" or anything like that. The person would not be copying an alive nation, but would still be trying to seem like a nation that he/she is not. Is that an offence? And is there a difference in the offence if someone copys a nations that was deleted by the moderators or a nation that died of natural causes? I'm sorry, I love reading and understanding rules and laws (i study the law!) and this game makes many interesting cases.

It would certainly be stupid. If someone went around pretending to be someone who's banned from NationStates, the nation would probably just be deleted.

Yeah, especially with PF. I thought PF was DoS now?

my question does not concern prodigal fenian. it was an example. although, what if a nation used his name to try and discredit him more? does a nation not have rights against impersonators when it has been deleted?
But let me take a better one. In the region of portugal, there is a founder called platinum bees who is not existing any longer. What if a player decided "ok, i go round now as 'platinum bees 2'". It is impersonation, but not against another active player. So what is the ruling?

I have had puppets impersonated like that, and they did not see anything wrong with it. Only when they acted up did they get deleted.
(I.E. If had the nation of "345", and someone made "345 II". As long as they do not act up, "345 II" will not be deleted. But I'm no mod, and I might be wrong.)
