Innocent Deletion

I have a question for the moderators. As the person behind the former nation, The Titanian Democracy, I need to ask, why was that nation deleted? The Titanian Democracy had not broken any of the rules as stated in the terms and conditions, the FAQ, or any other material on NationStates.

I suggest that The Titanian Democracy be re-instated, or could someone at least tell me why he was deleted?

I am also a friend of The Titanian Democracy and I don't understand what he has done wrong either

I'm not the moderator who handled this, but as far as I can see this nation was deleted for having multiple UN nations and having a previous warning.

I beg to differ. The Titanian Democracy was the only U.N. nation. He had never been warned and had no other U.N. nations.

The Titanian Democracy was the only U.N. member nation at that ISP address.

Also, if I had more than one U.N. nation, what would the name of that nation be, and why wasn't it deleted?

Let me get this straight.

You lie, admit you lie, then expect to be believed when you say you had no multies even when the nation in question obviously turned up on a mutli scan? That's an interesting way of going about getting your way, if I do say so m'self.

If you would rather I use gentler terms, you deliberately misrepresented yourself as being 'a friend' of the nation deleted, then admitted you were making false statements of identity for whatever reasons.

Right.

In any case, in an effort to offer up the benefit of doubt, have you ever accessed the nation that got deleted from a computer where others are or may have accessed their own UN nation? If so, that would be enough to do it. I have yet to see the mods overturn a ruling due to that. The warnings about accessing your UN nation from a public computer, or a computer where other users play from who have UN nations have been made repeatedly all over these forums. You probably don't have a leg to stand on.

As for the comment on 'previous warning', obviously couldn't say, not having access to that information.

I apologize for posing as a friend of the nation in question, but untill I was sure why the nation was deleted, I did not want to risk having my current nation deleted.

May I speak with the moderator who did this?

I have also yet to see a nation deleted by moderators simply on account of asking why something was done, so long as the request is framed in polite terms. Just for the record.

Have some patience. I'm sure they will get to your question when they're able, and give it all the attention it deserves.

Thank you, and I hope my posts come along as polite. I have no other intention than for them to be, I'm just a little confused.

I am the Moderator who handled this.

'The Titanian Democracy' was found to be part of a large UN Multi ring. While just having UN Multi's often result in simple ejection, a large enough ring elevates to deletion. This is just such a case.

what is a UN multi-ring?

A group of UN nations we find to be linked to eachother by computer/internet connection.

First off, The Titanian Democracy never had any multiple United Nations countries, second, The Titanian Democracy was NEVER warned about a possible deletion for these false charges.

Also, may I ask, what were the names of the nations that supposedly comprised my "multi ring?"

What the . . . . I don't even KNOW half of these nations. I do know of Chickenwing Major and Titanian, and you can check all of their records (or whatevery you mods do) and see that we are NOT the same person. Chickenwing and I don't even live in the same STATE!!! I know Titanian as a friend, but he is a completely different nation and person than the former The Titanian Democracy.

As for all of the other nations. . . . . . .I never heard of them or saw them.

You have faulty intelligence.

You wanted to know why you were deleted, stating that you didn't care if that country was reinstated, you just wanted to know why. Now you know why. Why are you still pushing this? Maybe you were mistaken for another person, which would be very sad. I would also be upset in your situation, if it's true. However, you have another country now. Why don't you just play as it and stop this nonsense? I don't understand your motivation. If you're not trying to get your country back, is this all about making the moderator feel bad?

Titanian Democracy was the delegate of our region and him being deleted INNOCENTLY has caused havoc in our region. There is a difference between The Titanian Democracy and Titanian. Two different people.

The moderators have quite convincing ways, that aren't revealed to us for a reason, at seeing links between nations and UN-multis. You'll need some pretty significant evidence to prove otherwise. I highly doubt that a UN-multi ring of such a size was detected incorrectly.

I'm not saying the ring isn't real. The Titanian Democracy was deleted for being part of it. The name was titanian but titanian and the Titanian Democracy aren't the same people I know both. all of this is a mix-up about names.

The mods have very accurrate methods of determining who is whose puppet; much more accurrate than simply comparing names. IP comparison is just one tool, and by no means the best one, they have at their disposal.

Rarely, though, they delete people who might not be guilty, but who trip the scan anyway because they share a computer, a home or office network, or a school or library connection. Usually schools and libraries are given a certain amount of leeway in these matters. The mods usually advise people who share connections to be careful. They can't tell if it's one person using two nations on one computer or two people on one computer with one nation each.

Hi I'm Titanian, Titanian Democracy's friend who was recently deleted.

I think I know what happened. TD came over to my house one night to pick up his sis and he got on his nation on my computer. That may have triggered the wrong IP address. I'm sorry if this has caused confusion and no I'm not the same person as the Titanian Democracy.

Please do not delete me as I saw myself on the UN multi ring since I only have two nations, and only one of which is in the UN.

Thank You,
Titanian

The "my friend came over to my house...." excuse has been used ad nauseum and has yet to be accepted in any such case. Just give up and start again with a new nation.

I'm sorry it does sound dumb. But to be honest how do I know you are not the mod and just using a differerent login name. There really is no way to find out who and if someone is using multiple nations. So why do you continue to argue whether or not I'm the same person as the Titanian Democracy. We were just trying to have fun with teens around the world and here you are deleting our nations and ruining our fun.

Thanks for being party poopers,

There are perfectly valid methods to determine who owns which nation. Just because you're not privy to them doesn't mean they don't exist. The mods had good reason to delete you and TD, and I can guarantee you it wasn't because "once, he came over to pick up his sister and got on his nation at my house." IP comparison, login timestamps, and other means all get collated to paint a pretty irrefutable picture.

If he is just a friend who happened to login at your house from time to time, you need to be more careful about that. Create new nations, live and learn. In two years, I've never heard of a UN Multi ruling being reversed, and I doubt they'll start now. They've heard every argument you can present, and they've heard it hundreds of times.

If you still feel you were unjustly punished, however, you can contact admin@nationstates.net and request a review. I've never heard of that working, either, but it's what the mods keep telling people to do.

Ok, well i don't really care anymore. My friend made a new nation and we are getting everything under control in our region. Thanks for informing us on how the moderators run things around here. Hopefully next time there won't be this problem.

Thank you and bye,

Sorry to butt in, but I am in the same region as Aornia and would like to ask several questions.

First, if I accessed my nation from a school computer and it was in the UN (as Armany is), then I am in danger of being deleted, correct? I believe that I have done this once and was just wanting some clarification. If, as my suspiscions tell me, this action is deemed as grounds for expulsion/deletion, then I would like to ask if my nation is danger of punishment. There have been no other logins from different computers except from public ones at my school, and this only occurred I believe once, but I was concerned that in light of The Titanian Democracy's deletion that my nation may befall the same fate. However, I am a part of no UN-multi ring, I have just accessed my nation from a public computer.

Finally, I would like to petition whoever is in charge for the reinstatement of The Titanian Democracy, although this plea is a little late and the odds of it happening are probably none.

Thank you for your time.

If you realise that your nation is in danger of being tagged as a UN-multi because of access from public computers, then your best bet is probably to remove it from the UN. That way you don't risk deletion. Acknowledging that you've been made aware of the problem and demonstrating that you've taken steps to correct it may grant you clemency from the Moderators whose job it is to watch for rules violations.

Standard Disclaimer: I am not a Moderator. I will never be a Moderator. I do not claim to speak for them.

The punishment for UN multying is typically ejection from the UN. We only delete a nation for multying if combined with another offense, if there are numerous multies, or they're obvious (like 'spamalot1', 'spamalot2', spamalot3', 'spamalot4' as a hypothetical example).

If you log in from a school computer and that computer is used by other UN nations, we may or may not be lenient with you. So, yes, you do risk ejection whenever you share a computer with another UN nation.

I am detecting slight evidence of you multying, Armany. However, it's not enough to conclude that you're a cheat, so I'll let this slide. You don't have to remove your nation from the UN, but don't share computers again.
