Advanced Warning!

I started a thread for Hebrew speakers only, so naturally every non-Hebrew speaker has to come in and venture some silly comment as to my post. If the mods could look in on the thread from time to time and cut out the stuff clearly not related (i.e the stuff in English or other languages!) that would be a great help. Already 5 posts, none of them relevant.

Thanks in advance mods and sorry for all the work I'm causing you.:p

Oh and also as useful as that trick Myrth used yesterday was it won't work here because it'll pop up throughout the thread and I'd rather the relevant posts that were already there stay there to cause minimal bother to the people who are hebrew speaking.

You want a solution to this problem?

Come back to II and the rest of us sane people. ;)

I'm not sure what trick you're referring to, but I merely split-and-locked the off-topic posts.

Wasn't NS supposed to be English only or am I completely wrong?

*looks around* I don't see any sane people anywhere! Besides, if I was sane I would be out getting a life instead of spending my entire existence on NS!

EDIT: And thanks Cog, Myrth just split the entire thread, also removing valid posts which wouldn't have been of much use in this thread.

Yeah, it's easy enough to do that when the thread isn't too long, but unfortunately the split/mass delete function only shows me the first hundred or so characters of each post, making it hard to determine which posts need splitting and which don't.

NS has many languages, and isn't defined as English only. MOST users talk English, but it's not a requirement.

Yeah, there's that whole thread in General about, err, I'm not quite sure, I can't read it. But it looks like it says something about the Netherlands or something like that.

Its Dutch, I should know because I live in the Netherlands.

Just face it, most people on general are fruitcakes or on heavy duty medication. ;)

Okay, cool.
Honestly, I had forgotten what language was spoken in the Netherlands...

The topic, (off the top of my head) is "Het Vierde Nederlandse Topic". My Dutch may be crap, but it exists!

More posts in English that are unneccesary. (This from "Are there any Hebrew Speakers here?")

Um...there's really no need for that here...in the moderation forum. Not the best place for insults, buddy.

I'm not asking for mod action, warnings and stuff. I'm merely asking for them to delete the needless posts. I did post that I don't want irrelevant posts in English. I can't make it clearer than that.

EDIT: There's about 10 more now.

i thought it was set that you couldnt dictate who or how they posted in a thread you made in general just in the rp forums

I have made it clear in the first post that Its a hebrew thread. Its no different to the "Het Vierde Nederlandse Topic" or any other topic. Its Hebrew only, so no need to turn it into a discussion topic about anything else in English.

I assume you mean I can't dictate who posts, well if that were the case then the mods wouldn't have deleted the 10 or so posts they already did. Now can we please wait for the mods to delete the irrlevant posts. If you want to debate whether I'm right or wrong take it to another thread.

Just a thought, an I apologize for adding one of three Hebrew phrases I know without being sure it fit, but couldn't you try starting a thread without any english, or Roman characters at all? Don't even explain it up front. the Hebrew speakers will get it, and if people have no idea what you are about, wouldn't they be less likely to attempt harassment?

No, the warning on the top of my thread was only afterwards added. At the beginning it was straight in Hebrew and the first post was someone who wrote "I agree" and others soon followed suit.

In "General", you can't dictate who may or may not post so long as they remain on-topic. You may, however, dictate the topic when you start the thread and ask for off-topic posts to be removed.

I'll have to split out the off-topic posts later.
