While I agree that people shouldn't be calling other people idiots, this is really rather mild compared to some of the things I see. It's best to learn to ignore them over little things like this.

I know Dakini has edited his post, but how is calling another player an idiot acceptable? Mild in comparison? Where is the line between flames and acceptable?

It's 'highly unclear' and decided on a case-by-case basis, there is no 'if you say X it is a flame and one step lower is not a flame' magic line. What is hugely offensive to one may be totally benign to another. Nevertheless, the use of 'idiot' in the post was apparently extremely mild, and as a general rule it's simply not a harsh enough insult to be worth slapping wrists over.
As an addition, you can call someone an idiot logically via the line of reasoning 'your arguments are idiotic / therefore you are an idiot.'

You must have had motivation. When one analyzes your text for motive, one can see that you felt you had to express your disagreement or disgust with the forementioned post. If you were completely unbiased regarding the topic of Angelina Jolie you would have never wrote any text regarding when the accusation of idiocy is allowed.
