Well... I'm not sure I'd call that flamebaiting. It's not particularly polite or accurate, but it doesn't seem to have malicious intent.

Isn't flaming Americans a bit boring by now? ;)

Maybe not boring, but it is certainly passé.

I wouldn't call it flamebaiting either. You assume by claling it flamebaiting that it would piss Americans off. I agree with what that person said, I would have said it better then he did. I am American by the way, born and raised. I feel Bush was a bad choice, and has and will do some very bad things.

Of course it's flamebaiting, but it would probably be classified more correctly as flaming in general. Then again...it is the general forum. Anti-American sentiment is polluted throughout our lovable spam forum. It would be impossible to get rid of it all.

It is only flamebiating for some Americans not all Americans. Not all Americans love or support Bush. Calling bush an idiot is not necessairly anti-american sentiment. I personally did not vote for him, and would never have voted for him.
You should eb able to say Bush is an idiot. You may want to do it in a better fashion.
Its too far away

Not well worded but its not really that bad. Idiot isn't really all that offensive and he is just expressing discontent at a political decision. He actualy says that if you believe this to be a good decision you are an idiot.
It's only fair comment. Some people think that way, some don't. It's called free speech. Oh, I forgot that this is not RL! Silly me, I'm an idiot!

I agree with the sentiment in regards to Bush. We should be allowed to criticize politics and political figures as long as no one crosses the line and starts insulting other members of this forum and their beliefs.

Did you not read the post? It does not say that Bush is an idiot...it implies that everyone who voted for him was. That is insulting other members of this forum and their beliefs. I'm not quite sure what you're reading.
Also, it doesn't matter how many people it insults, the fact remains that it's insulting. Am I offended by "idiot?" Of course not. But it's the idea of it that matters.
Obviously people should be allowed to criticize politicians...but there is a not so fine line between critique and hate. In addition, those who assume the intelligence level of others based upon their political leanings need an IQ test of their own.

Ironic, ain't it? I'm for Bush and I believe he will do great things in our time. I'm willing to back that up with my life, and I plan on doing so by joining the USMC as soon as possible. Remember, life is only what you make of it and I am making a choice to defend liberty and freedom for all Americans.

Okay, so I would have voted for Bush over Kerry, but I still think that HE'S an idiot. I would not put your life on Bush if I were you, because after all, my forty-five-year-old father is perfectly draftable (if that's a word), and he has back problems, so I don't agree with the idea of trusting Bush or ANY politician for that matter.
And the post which the first person linked is one of the LEAST offensive posts that I have seen on this site. Really, I have seen WAY worse remarks, whether they be anti-American, racist, or otherwise on this site. Speaking of which, what right do all of you prejudiced people have to diss we Americans anyway? We're not perfect by any means, but at least where I live, we make a point of not dissing Europeans, Asians, Africans, Australians, etc. Of course, I do live on the coast, so that might explain it :) .

The thread in question has been locked, and this one seems to be venturing off-topic rather wildly. Thus I'm locking it.
