I'm really fuzzy on what is and what is not allowed in the general forum, but I find the following thread extremely offensive. If it is within the rules of what is allowed, I'll skip that thread and let them have at it. But, if not, would you please take care of this. Thank you.

Eh. Irreverant, but not terribly offensive.

As a Catholic, I'm sorry that is NS's position on this. The idea that the death of our Most Holy Father is a topic for jokes is extemely offensive. This is beyond sick.

I'm sorry Zooke, but what about freedom of speech? Yes you may find the thread offensive - I find plenty of stuff on here quite offensive. But if you don't like it, then don't read it!

Once you start going down the road of censorship, gagging, and denunciation, then you are very close to the dangerous world of the police state.

Let people have their say - agree or disagree with them. But don't stifle their right to think and speak freely without fear of persecution.

To be fair, the joke is his replacement, not his death in and of itself.

It would never be my goal to stifle a person's right to think and speak freely. I have noticed, that freedom of thought and speech is not guaranteed on NS, or else there would be no locks and no players would be deleted. I have to question the logic in a forum that would delete threads offensive to gays, Jews (which I am ethnically), Muslims, and various other groups, but would find that making fun of the death and replacement of the world's greatest religious leader "not terribly offensive". This is not only an attack on one man, but an offense to an entire religious group. This topic strikes me, and I am sure most Catholics and Christians, as extremely inflammatory. After thinking the situation through, NS's unfortunate determination, and reviewing my options, I cannot in good conscience participate in a forum that would condone such actions.
