I don't like snitching and all, but out of curiousity, aren't threads celebrating one's post count banned?

I like Steel Butterfly and all, I was just curious.

I thought as long as it didn't turn to spam it was okay... I must've been mistaken...

Not trying to rock the boat by any means, but if people tattle tail on every little thing, doesnt that clog up the website too? I understand that there are many instances in which offenses need to be reported. I respect the people who bring that to the Mod's attention. But it just seems like a lot of people report things that would probably fizzle out in a short time. There are a lot of rules on here, a LOT. Is it really necessary to report someone when they celebrate their 9000 post? And one persons interpretation of spam may be different than anothers. I think maybe people have the best intentions when they report things, but perhaps some are hoping if they report enough instances, that they may be noticed faster and become a mod themselves? I'm a Moderator of an online group myself so I do understand that their are disrespectful people on the web every single minute. Just something to think about. Thank you.

The Moderators, from what I understand, have a lot of stuff to do, and they can't be everywhere at once (or can they? ). Sometimes, specific threads with extreme vulgarity need to be brought to their attention immediately. That's where us players come in.

Yes absolutely. Thats what I said. I simply added that some things that are reported are hardly offensive or harmful...such as the member who celebrated their 9000 post. Those threads that are created in an obvious trouble making manner should be reported for certain.

I know, and that thread wasn't spam to me, I was merely curious. I think my questions will be kept private for now on.

Please dont take my post as an attack to you-it definitely was not. Its just something I've wanted to say and when I read that, I thought maybe I'd bring it up. I'm glad people like you are there to be on the look out. Apologies if it seemed as a personal attack.
