Is there any way of finding out what, if any, warnings or complaints have been made against you or one of your nations?

In particular, I recently received the password for the nation of "Oroduin" from the previous owners (who were all fairly inactive and unable to maintain it), and I don't want any black marks on the original owner's record to transfer to me.

I've never really thought about it before, but I've taken control of a nation in the past that had at least one warning from the previous owner, and when a mod looked at my "file" it wasn't reflected there.

I think perhaps if you alert the staff when the change is made it could avert any possible future confusion.

I believe that a recert ruling said you could make a Getting Help request about such things. I'll go look for it.

If you want that information, then you should ask a Mod for it, though I can imagine it will be highly unlikely it will be given to you, as for the most part, it's really none of your business what another player has done.

Information such as this on your own nation, that has always been your is probably more accessable by asking.

Besides, there will be other factors about your main nation, that will be kept secret, let alone someone elses.

Given what Cog wrote here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7715867&postcount=3), it seems necessary to know what the previous infractions were.

If you can be held responsible, then once you have the password for that nation you should be able to know what's on the record.

Or possibly the mods can be told that it's not the same person now in control of the nation. But how could they verify that?

Well, all a player would have to do is to obtain the new puppet, post a thread or file a Getting Help report, and no one would be the wiser for it (except, of course the mods if they assumed a nation-swap had occured).

Yeah, but the player who has obtained the nation, would still find out about any warnings like that the owner before had. So that's still a breach of privacy, even if it is only to one person.

I do understand though, WHY a new owner wants/needs to know the warning situation though. But in my experience, the Mod's just don't give it out.

That's not the point; it's not a preach of privacy, technically speaking, if they ask with the nation they've obtained. If the trade is made in secret, via telegram or instant messenger, then, there's no proof a trade ever existed and to the rest of us it would appear that a nation was just curious.

Considering that warnings are also posted freely on the forums and in threads, such as this, by your logic (if I'm understanding correctly), then, saying that I have a warning (for example) in this thread is a violation of my privacy because you and everyone else now knows, too.

Who knows? Maybe we the latest trend of asking for warning history in the past two weeks... maybe this is already taking place...

I do understand though, WHY a new owner wants/needs to know the warning situation though. But in my experience, the Mod's just don't give it out.

In my experience, I have seen them give out warning information or guide players to where to ask and is some cases give it out freely. It depends on who you talk to, how busy it is, and the general tidings of the forums of the day.

I'm sure the Mod's will have the information, and will know that the nation has changed hands. So how a nation changed hands, or if there's no proof, doesn't matter. Agreed, to the rest of NS population, it'll seem that it's just a curious nation, but the information is still being given out to someone

Yes, nation's do ask here in Moderation, and yes, they get an answer, usually. To get an answer, a Mod would have to load up the nations file anyway check it out, if the nations details seems sketchy, as in who owns it, then it probably won't get posted.

Just about to go offline, so I may not of explain that properly, I hope it made sense.
