Well, it appears to be legal to advertise Firefox in ones thread, just as a link, like Myrth's but is it legal to do it so I get credit for referrals.

That breifly explains the system.
So, would it be legal?

Linking to something for linking's sake is way differnet than linking to something to earn something from it. I mean, I could post a link in my sig to my Amazon.com Associates Program, too. This site is Max's marketing tool, not ours. Just my .02.

How did I guess who would be responsible for the first reply...
Seriously though, yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Posting referral links in the forums (links that give you points or something for getting people to click on them) is considered spam under any circumstances. An old example that comes to mind is an online game called "Outwar". That game used referral links and we declared it spam. So, you can't post such links in the forums or use them in your signatures.
Now if you tell someone whom you already know that you have a referral arrangement, and that person actually agrees to help you out by using the referral URL, then you can send the URL to them by telegram or E-mail. Don't advertise that you're looking for people to visit a referral URL. Don't post it on the forums.
Thank you for your cooperation.
