It's about me, and it's really disingenuous. I'd like it if it was actually a thread dedicated to how awesome I am, but it's not. It's just Sean O Mac asking me to forgive him because he pissed me off.

Thank you. If someone wants to make a thread actually appreciating me, that'd be one thing, but that kid was just looking for my acceptance.

And I have no idea when we became 'old'. I just started noticing it because the old player picture website that Neon Lights had set up went away. All those people that used to be my friends....

I can kinda relate. I think General has a higher turnover rate than the RP areas, but every now and then you sit and think about all the people who are gone.

Meh. Where's my cane?

Yeah, I only got into the RP forums in August or so, so I don't realize what I might have missed, but I've been in General since May or June 2003.

Bah! Back in my day, we didn't need no high-falutin' "picture page!" We had a forum 'afore the Internet--or "That Big Damn Typey Thing," as it was called in those days--could even put up pictures! An' the forums was run by coal, they was! Max Barry was out there a-shovelin' coal inta the forum furnace night an' day just so young punks like you could go post 'bout their fay-vor-eet board games or which membera the Monkees was the cutest! We was so poor, we couldn't even afford ta type dee-scrip-shuns of ourselves! Shoot, we couldn't even afford to have yer newfangled "physical traits!"

Yessir, times was hard then! You kids just don't understand nothin' 'bout the way oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool' NationStates--or "Max Barry's Super Depression-Era President Hoover Typey Simulator," as we called it, 'cause it was the style of the time!

But what do we qualify as 'golden oldie' ?

Are we only as old as we feel? Cos in NS terms I feel bloody old.

LMAO @ Slaggy... :D

wait a minute, didn't you go to bed?

Monkeypimp: I was speaking in NS age, yes. I'd say you're pretty old. We're both going for two years in May...that's an eternity in NS years.

Right, because this thread has such a distinct purpose to hijack it from.

Hey, I couldn't think of a title and it seemed ironic with all the "appreciation threads" going round. I apologise if it annoyed you. I do not need your acceptance, I merely wanted to try and clear the air. Any offence caused therein I apologise for.

Weird. Probably because it's a Unix timestamp, so if you're sufficiently far enough ahead of me in time, it will show as being a day later.

1) What a wonderful world where my being in Australia makes Myrth look younger to me ! It really must be the distance, I guess ! :p

2) I''d not be too surprised if there was an General " Old Posters " club, there is a vague semi-guiding-hand " Old Guard " in the U.N. Forum after all ... :D

3) I still recall my old join date, 06 August 2003 ( I am fairly sure ) ... I can't remember my parents birth dates but I can remember my nation account ... go figure in a big way, ;)

Myrth, if you were a girl, you wouldn't be complaining about being younger. ;)
