If your thread was closed, a discussion on why it was or shouldn't have been needs to take place in Moderation.

You have free speech as per the rules of this forum; one of them is that there is only one topic on the current UN resolution at a time. Your thread was a duplicate and closed accordingly.
This does go in moderation.

Shaggagoat, from what I have seen, your new threads have been on the stem cell research resolution. The reason they were closed is because we already have an official thread on this topic (all 25 pages of it). While I understand that making your say obvious amongst 25 pages is difficult, if it wasn't for this rule then every thread would be on one topic. This is a move towards sanity.
Also: right to free speech? Nah, this is the NS board. Free speech doesn't actually exist. The mods are the ones who enforce the rules, but they don't make the rules - that is the prerogative of Max Barry (and [violet], assuming the two are different).
Any discussions about moderation should go on the Moderation forum. Any discussions about rules and rule changes should go to the Technical forum.

Talk about censorship; Is the name "Shaggagoat" not a bit offensive? We all know what "shag" means, and what "shagging" is.

Just to clear up a subtle point that many tend to miss: The Admins have reminded us Mods that "offensive" is a subjective term, so nothing is prohibited on NationStates merely for being offensive. The NationStates Terms and Conditions prohibit anything that is obscene, malicious, defamatory, threatening, illegal, or spam. "Shaggagoat" was deleted on the basis of being obscene.
