The Atlantic (Part II)

The current Delegate has ejected about one half of the nations (there were about 40 last night, but I do not know how many at update, I would bet about 30-25.) Is this griefing? There are currently 13 nations there (two left)

The current delegate C17H19NO3 is a native of the region. He gained the delegacy this update with the largest number of native endorsement after the deletion of the invader delegate. As can be seen by the other thread about The Atlantic in this forum, we've had a lot of people drop by during the last week. All the people he ejected where either invaders, defenders or assorted puppets, who arrived in the region after we were invaded. We've wanted the invaders gone ever since they took over and kicked out the old delegate. C17H19NO3 is just making sure this won't happen again. Besides I'm pretty sure he unbanned everyone except the invaders afterward.

That is all fine and dandy- but he is not a founder. He can not eject that many people, can he mods?

Couldn't this have gone in the other thread on The Atlantic?

Tuesday : Probably, but if you see how it has been made back there for some of us ...

RSJ : C17H19NO3 is Native Delegate, is also now the oldest nation to have been in the region. So you can safely say they have " gone completely native " on us, ;)

I'm pretty sure after an invasion, the Native Delegate can kick as many as they want, on the grounds those kicked are invaders, from the defense forces, are puppets or other-wise, neutrals, like myself. They have the right I am sure to return the situation back to what it was, pre-invasion. Also, from what I can see, C17H19NO3 has a pretty good grip on the rules, so I'd be quite surprised if they ended up doing anything that is " just not cricket " ;)

If it is not against the rules then it is stupid- he ejected his power base.

Not quite :) . He only ejected the bulk of non-natives. The natives who endorse him / her and endorsed the original delegate are his / her " power base ". Defenders were only a temporary fix. ( Welcome as they were I think, ;) ) If anything, he has acted to consolidate his power so invaders cannot grief his / hers quiet little region again. This was not sparked by an act of " treason " that we know of. This was the targeting of a small, non-pass-word protected region and the less non-natives in it, the safer. Spies and dark pupets abound these days, as you may know.

As a defender who was booted, I concur with Komokom's assessment of the situation. Further the current delegate C17H19NO3 also telegrammed an explaination.

Besides, I have a sturdy ejection seat :D

Thanks for the lovely compliment.

Getting back on topic, however, I didn't eject any natives (that I know of). While I did eject almost all of the observers, all the defenders and all the invaders, that is perfectly within the realm of what I am allowed to do. I would have ejected only the invaders, but when a region triples in size, it's often difficult to tell which is which, and in this case, it was easier to cut a wide swath, as opposed to attempting surgical strikes.

I have apologised profusely to the defenders, as I don't want to seem ingrateful, but it was an unavoidable consequence. Simply going by who endorced me wouldn't work either, as invaders often endorce the native, especially before they strike. Also, this way my only support is coming from natives, so there can be no claims that I am being "propped up" by defenders; which also explains why I was willing to eject my "power-base".

As for the real question related to The Atlantic (the deletion of Reader Writer), I honestly can offer no information. I was asleep when he was deleted, so when I woke up, I was delegate, and so I took advantage of the situation. I cannot comment on if it was "proper" or not, so I won't. All I can say is that the only complaint I filed in relation to this invasion was when someone spammed our regional events a few days ago, and I believe that was a defender anyway.

Now, if there is nothing more for me to add, I will simply resume my lurking, and trying to manage my region.

Thank you.
