The Island of Rose can no longer access the forum. He has asked me to post to see if the mods may have IP banned his address (though he does not know why).

The error is a "Cannot find Server"... however his internet is working fine.

He's not banned -- maybe something on his end?

I asked earlier, he says there's nothing he knows nothing of that should stop him.

The server has been messing up today. It's taking a long time for things to load, especially in the forums.

I have also received that message, but forum access was restored the next day. Isn't technology wonderful? :D

If you were banned, you'd get a message saying you didn't have permission to access the forums.
If for whatever reason Jolt banned you from all their servers, you'd get a 403 error.

It's likely a router/firewall blocking it, depending on where he is trying to access the page from. Also, the connection could be subject to attenuation and result in latency, which would lead to a timeout, but not necessarily a 400-code status page, which is a response from the server indicated that the access is forbidden or the page can't be displayed (as in it isn't found in that location on the server).

So, since it's a timeout, it means the server is in full and the traffic is making response time too low to accomadate all users. IE: the bandwidth is spread too thin.

It's also possible that his ISP blacklisted Jolt for some reason, or that he is running through a proxy server that has been incorrectly set up.

Can he get to the game, but not the forums?
Can he get to http://www.jolt.co.uk/ ?
Can he ping Jolt at 195.149.21.11 or the forums at 195.149.21.52 ?
How about www.nationstates.net at 213.208.119.243 ?
