Superfluous UN Proposal?

Greetings.

I wired this query to a moderator, and he referred me here, so...

I see a UN proposal that has reached quorum and will shortly be put to the vote is "Disallow Torture". I assumed this was invalid, since it is already covered by resolution 41. Does the duplication rule apply only to copying the text of a resolution, or is this sufficiently stronger (e.g. covers the use of torture in more walks of life) that it is allowed as a further proposal?

I'd appreciate some guidance on this.

I'll look into it. I wasn't aware it bumped again #41.

This the one you mean? It's was pulled from the queue on 7 November, and the author is now an ex-nation. I had the same reaction you did, and took it to #themodcave. Thanks, GMC.

That's the one I meant. Thanks. I didn't realise it had been pulled from the queue. Is there an easy way to tell what proposals are in the queue after their cutoff dates have been reached?

Proposals in the queue sit on the proposal page until they hit the floor.

#themodcave.

It seems like IRC is an easy way to get in contact with the game moderators ...

Out of curiousity, are they pretty receptive to requests on the channel?

(Apologies for hijacking this thread ... )

Yes.

To clarify, the author was deleted for being a multi prior to the proposal even being noticed. He wasn't deleted for writing crappy proposals (though perhaps there should be a category ...)

And to extend what Tesday Heights said, yes, #themodcave is usually quite receptive of requests for things. You know, it being the IRC channel meant specifically for when you need Nation States Moderator help and all, Miki ;)

...

I actually thought there was a sticky about the channel ... hmmm, ...

Oh, found it. Myrth mentioned it in the Getting help from the Mods [READ BEFORE POSTING!] (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6528591&postcount=8) ... post 8 ... I keep thinking it was in a sticky but that must be another mIRC channel ( shrug )

I wish...

Anyway, yes, we are quite receptive to requests in #TheModCave, as that's what it's there for.

"Disallow Torture" was a miserably written proposal anyway. I'm glad it's gone.
