Lost UN status

Hi to any lovely friendly mods out there!

I've just been kicked out of the UN for having multiple UN nations.

After a little research, I have found out why. Tasty Toast is my UN nation. Wilf is my brothers UN nation. Des Nation is my brothers and I friends UN nation. I recently visited my parents, as did my brother and we both logged on to the same computer with our UN nations, our friend also logged onto the same computer! My friend also has visited my brother and me and logged onto both computers! I have not logged onto my brothers computer ever, which you can check! Also, as far as I am aware, my brother has not logged onto my computer ever with his nation.

I hope this clears the matter up and that all 3 nations can be restored to the UN as soon as possible, thank you.

It is more then likely your request will be refused.

As in every case of " my relative / friend / pet show dogs hair dresser logged in from the computer I use my U.N. nation from with his / her U.N. nation " the Moderator team cannot really see if they are a said seperate person. No matter what " proof " is displayed. Also, with several methods of checking for malicious or even not multi ' ing both disclosed and not disclosed. And are pretty much iron bound methods, too.

On your behalf I hope I'm wrong, and that the Moderation team are too.

But it is as I said unlikely. If you have been ejected from the U.N. already and it is a ban, then that account ( nation ) is banned for ever.

And no amount of polite asking, begging, or open death threats can change that. ;)

I am not the moderator who handled this case; however, I can tell you that there are multiple ways in which we check for multis, IP addresses being only one.

We cannot see who is on the other side of the monitor screen and keyboard and be 100% sure that each person is a different individual; therefore, as we have stated numerous times, you must not sign onto another UN member's computer with your account, and you must not allow other UN members to sign onto your computer with their accounts.

Please take care to avoid this situation in the future.

Of course you weren't, you silly Forum Mod! :p

In all seriousness, however, I've reviewed the case, and I agree with the decision of the Moderator who handled this case. Kat and Komo's points are also valid: even if this is/was a matter of family members, there's not much we can do about it, as we can't verify.

You are welcome to make a new nation to enter into the UN.

Thank you for your mercyful descion,

you obvoiusly did not just jump to conclusions and investigated the messages, movements and purposeness of the selected individuals, and for that the nation states is a safer place.

I rejoice in your competance.

once again

thank you !

Yes, because sarcasm in the Moderation forum is a sure way to get the proper help you desire.

I don't plan to argue whatever the policy is but it seems inaccurate that one cannot make a reasonable assessment of whether there are separate people. If each combination of two accounts has a record of conncurrent sessions from different IPs then it is more than likely the accts don't belong to the same person.

...And he couldn't even spell "incompetence" correctly. How... wonderfully ironic.

Well seeing as we dont actually eject them unless they do come from the same IP... yeah...

If you're referring to there being seperate IPs in the IP log of each nations [non-common ones, that is], that's a different issue. Regardless of whether or not they may in fact be seperate people, it's not going to be true in every case, thus we cannot/will not make a blanket policy granting amnesty to everyone who has IPs that aren't shared. besides, the Cheatscan uses more than just the IP addy, so if the cheatscan shows somethin' chances are they deserve a booting.

Does the MOD team look at individual computer IP's or do they look at a network IP?

I log into my account from the University of North Dakota. My fiance wants her NS account to be a UN member but i told her about the whole 2 accounts from the same IP thing and i was wondering if the IP tracer looked at indivisual computer's IP's or if they looked at a network IP.

Just a small quesiton. If you don't want to answer it here you can send me a Telegram on NS or something.

In truth, I'm not too certain how it works, but I know that it uses other methods besides simply scanning the IP, as mentioned before. I imagine it would depend on how you have your routers configured, but just guessing here I'd say that you'd stand a healthy chance of being detected by the game as a multi account.

It depends on how the network is set up. We resolve ip addresses down as far as possible, sometimes to the network, sometimes to the individual computer. If you have a local network reserved ip (usually something in the 172.xxx.xxx.xxx or 192.xxx.xxx.xxx range) then we can only see the ip of the network, meaning that network can only have one UN nation on it. (We do check for educational domains, and factor that into our decision.) If you have a public ip address, then we can see your direct machine IP.

Tasty Toast, it happened to me, cos my hubby uses the same PC as me. Take my advice and get over it. Create a new nation and join the UN with that one, and be a bit more careful where you log on to. I did have to beat hubby into submission to let me have the UN status, though. That was fun...

The network were on is within the buildings of the University of North Dakota. It's a really intricate network and i have no clue how they have their network set up.

But i'll tell her that she can't be a UN member. If i have to, i'll be her voice in the UN.... :)

Sticking my head in here real quick...

So you lot can tell if it is an educational network? So logging in from school is generally safe, as long as you log on at home too?

They've said that if the IP has an .edu address, they are more careful about discerning if there are really 2 people. But it doesn't guarantee you won't get deleted.

I had the same question awhile ago, but only concerning the forums, as I frequented them while I was on campus but I only log into my nation - most of the time - directly from home.

I was advised to be careful about it, but that it could still lead to a deletion if it appears to be multiing.

Well...no matter

I talked to my fiance and we decided that she will remain non-un and i will be her voice in the UN. Problem solved so you don't have to worry about it.

Anyways....how about them snipers? :sniper:

yeah, 'cos school/college students are totally trustworthy and wouldn't bend the rules at all, would they?
