A native was left on the list, and I removed them. As I stated in the entry to the HQ, the only further action was the clearing of the Delegate spot. Nobody's been kicked, and Glaaki won't stay Founder for very long.

How did you get the older xml's?

Ballo runs a script (I believe) that nabs XML data on a weekly (or so) cycle, and stores them locally. Pulling older data is just a matter of looking through the harddrive.

A native was left on the list, and I removed them.

The native was on the banlist for 4 hours. That cannot be considered "left on the ban list." Shouldn't atleast one update happen before he is considered "left on". :cool:

The only reason it didn't happen was because they lost to defenders. The moderation staff were aware that there had been talk of a griefing prior to that invasion.

if you mean iran, that was after talking to the natives i was able to contact, and i also said they could always contact me if they wanted it removed.

First, Pope Hope seems to be talking about the invasion before yours. She does not seem to be talking about you (though I don't think the confusion is necessarily your fault as Pope Hope was a bit sloppy with her words by saying "last invasion"). ...or do you claim that you were involved in both the invasion last Sunday and the Cuba invasion before that?

Second, what constitutes trolling, flamebaiting, and spamming is ultimately at Moderator discretion, and that doesn't look like any of the above to me. Now, take a deep breath and calm down.

Yeah, I have read their regional headquarters. They are still thanking you. I would almost report them for spamming their message board full of "Thank you Zandra!"

You gave them so many choices, it is a wonder they could make up their minds :p I guess they also asked you to eject African observer? (SP?)

here's a post that i made on the adn forum for our new cadets, a simplified version of the rules.

if you want to use it, do mention the source, as it is simple courtesy ;)

Okay, these rules are important, because if you don't follow them, you'll get in trouble with the NS mods.

These rules are basically based on "playing nice"
No flaming, flamebaiting, trolling. Treat your enemy with respect, even when they don't do the same to you. Do not let them bait you into flaming.
Flaming them back is also not a good idea.
No spamming. That goes for Civil HQs, Regional Happenings, telegramboxes, and anything else I may have forgotten to mention here.
No multis. You are only allowed to have 1 UN nation. Period.
No excuses about using only one for defenses and the other somewhere else, it's all BS, illegal, and you will get caught.
When you are made delegate of a region as defenderlead, there's even more rules to follow:
You are not allowed to ban natives. At all.
I can't see a situation in which we would need to eject a native, but in the rare case where it is needed, you must remove them from the banlist immediatly.
We are allowed to ban as many non-natives (invaders and their puppets) as we want, and we can keep them on the banlist as long as we want.
When passwording a region, the password needs to be sent to all natives immediatly. Preferably, send it out before putting it up. The password needs to be telegrammed, posting it in the WFE or Civil HQ is not enough. And also needs to be sent to ejected natives.
This telegram needs to be clear and easy to understand, no riddles, wordgames, etc.

Example:

We have passworded your region to protect it against outside invaders. The password is:

Passie

If you have any further questions, feel free to telegram me.
Not following these rules will get you warned if you get lucky (2 warnings usually means deletion) and deleted in the worst case.

Regional Control (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/page=region_control/region=region_name)

Put in the place of region_name the name of the region you want to check out, and you can check the banlist etc.
This only works when logged in.

XML feed (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/regiondata.cgi/region=region_name)

This link can be used to find out who the delegate is, what the order of entry is for nations (yes, it helps finding the natives) and how many votes the delegate had at update.
Again, replace region_name with the region's name that you want to look up.

Also, for both, replace spaces with an underscore.

When we retake the region, are we allowed to ban all the defender forces that came after? We have done this befor, and there was no problem. But I thought I should ask due to the "rule spin" worthy of Fox news. :rolleyes:

I believe you can keep any non-natives on the ban list for as long as you like.

I am a paranoid rule-follower. :P I never post anything I haven't seen with my own eyes. A griefing was discussed between two of the groups; one was dubious and the other wanted to do it. Game staff was asked to watch the region that night as a result, and did. I only mentioned it because what has coincidentally happened the very next week.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I haven't been around much the last few days. The definition of "defender" comment is a good one for Gameplay, but not really relevent here.

Sorry about the confusion...I didn't sleep at all last night. There were numerous groups involved in the invasion last Sunday, and this HAAZ was just one.

Of course. The Delegate position was cleared for ejecting a native, not for ejecting defenders. You might note that the defenders you ejected were left on the ban list.
