Thread Archiving

The Most Glorious Hack

Okay. I've been thinking about it for awhile, so here's what I'm going to do about Thread Archiving.

Since we are no longer doing regular purges of threads, there is little need for a sticky dealing with archiving threads. If someone wants a thread archived, they can just ask on IRC (irc.esper.net #themodcave), or post a request in this forum. However, we're probably going to be less likely to archive things, as the threads aren't going anywhere now, so please think carefully before requesting a thread to be archived.

For those interested, here's (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=292098) the original thread for archive requests. It'll stay locked and in this forum. Archiving the archive thread seems kinda silly.

Is it just me or do the archived threads disappear after a while?

Make sure you're viewing all threads (IE, no cut-off limit.) This can be changed in your Profile.

How?

Click 'Profile' > 'Edit Options' > then find where it says 'Default Thread Age Cut Off', change the drop down box to the relevant setting.

This idea sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
