could i have some info on the chat thread Paradise Club in General please...straight from the mods?

There have been rumours that 'the Mods' have said chatting is spam so a rash of RP has broken out in Paradise Club. No one can say which Mod has said exactly what...

Is it true that just chatting is out? The whole thread has changed in tone, is not relaxed and a place to have fun any longer. People are drifting away...

One of the good things about Paradise Club was that it got people together from different regions. There is plenty of angst, argument and tension elsewhere on NS, please can we have just ONE thread where we can just chill?

Your decision in black and white which can be passed on to others would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm not going to overrule Myrth, but as I recall, the ruling was that chat threads get moved over to the Jolt Spam forum after 1300 posts (that would have been 65 pages on the old forum system).

If you'll reread posts 3 and 5 in that link, you'll see that Cogitation made comments about roleplay and Japacia interpreted that to mean Paradise Club should be roleplayed. There was not a final and complete mod decision about it, just Jap's interpretation.

Again, I'm pulling this from memory (and without backup from Mods who know better), but chats are permitted in "General". On the old forums, when a chat-like/conversational thread hit 1300 posts it was locked (or, more typically, deleted). On the new forum system, they're allowed in "NationStates" > "General" up to 1300 posts (the same as on the old system), but after 1300 posts they get moved to "jolt general forums" > "Spam" (rather than being locked or deleted).

So, we do allow chat-like, content-light threads, but they still go "bye-bye" at 1300 posts.

Again, I'm going to ask you to wait for a Mod who knows more about "General" than I do, but I believe that that's the current established ruling.

I've allowed the current thread to pass the 1300 posts mark as it does now seem to be a sort of character RP, rather than a thread full of one-sentence posts.
You're welcome to start another one if you like, but if it's the usual thread full of one-line posts, I'll boot it into the Spam forum at 1300 posts.

word went round that chatting was out! Paradise Club has consequently become an angst-filled RP nightmare of a place :)
