Francos Spain

I know this is unusual, but is it possible to have Francos Spain moved from The Rejected Realms to The Pacific. He belongs in The Pacific, I think. Is this possible?

I don't think the mods will move a nation if the nation itself doesn't do it of their own free will.

Correct.

This request is denied.

This was suggested when Francos Spain initially left the game.
Special treatment cannot be given, even in such circumstances.

I agree with that, but it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks.

I agree. Francos Spain has done more for this game than any one other player that I could think of. Not that I agree with him, but I do respect him. I just don't like the idea of him dying in The Rejected Realms. I can live with that, even tho I had wanted to see that for so long, but now when it is about to happen, it just seems wrong.

So long Francos Spain.

If the mods make an exception for Francos Spain, every nation is going to claim that they accomplished something great in the game, and as such, will make similar requests from fans.

Out of curiousity, what exactly did he do for the game?

He certainly united people.

He was probably the most well-known Pacific dictator. He brought together people who wanted to overthrow him and those who wanted to keep him in power.

We should have a moment of silence, Didn't like him, but if anyone could "win" at nationstates he came pretty close.

What would be nice if for one day there was no spam in the Pacific. I think that would be a noble sign of respect, but I'll bet it won't happen. :headbang:

He certainly united people.
That is exactly what he did, both for and against him. And think, if it were not for Francos Spain, many players would have left the game a very long time ago. I was in the process of quitting when Francos came along. I'm still here. A great many players formed friendships from all corners of the world. Alliances were created.

No one can claim to be more famous than Francos Spain, not I, not Crazy Girl, or even any of the MODs, and I understand the stand the Admin has made to not move him. The game before Francos Spain was going nowhere and there was no force to direct it in any direction. With him, the ADN was formed. I doubt that these Alliances would have been as successful if Francos Spain never came along.

Actually, for what it's worth, moving a nation via the Mod Centre can cause goofiness with the updates. Nothing catastrophic, but it does muck things up a little. To move him, we'd need his password.

Francos has ceased to exist. This topic may lock. His nation deserves to rest now.

Why did he cease to exist?
Did he get deleted or did he just remain inactive?

That's when he got reinstated, when he got deleted that time.. So, his original founding date's probably lost.

Yeah, September 7, 2003, was the day I became a Moderator, and that wasn't very long after Francos Spain came to power in "The Pacific".

With him, the ADN was formed. I doubt that these Alliances would have been as successful if Francos Spain never came along.

The ADN existed prior to Francos Spain getting in power in The Pacific, and it's purpose has been to defend its member regions (and fight invaders in the process), not to fight Francos Spain specifically. The Pacific prior to Francos Spain's coup was not a member of the ADN anyway. Even the A.L.L. (Allied Liberation League), a newbie compared to the ADN, existed prior to Francos Spain obtaining The Pacific delegacy. If the NPO engaged in actual direct invasions, they managed to hide it well as I do not recall ever having seen an alert that NPO troops were in the process of invading another region (not to be confused with an infiltration / coup in another region).

Still, the nation Francos Spain did manage to polarize a lot of the game's inter-regional politics. Whether or not a nation is pro/contra-NPO has made a huge difference to many, and as such his influence was felt throughout the game. "What is your opinion on Francos Spain / the NPO?" had become a standard question to get a good first estimate at a player's ideological position in inter-regional politics. The NPO has been/is the boogeyman for many in the game, and a glorious hero to others, thanks solely to Francos Spain's policies. In the past year the NPO certainly infiltrated other regions and organizations and played lots of politics, but mostly they ended up focussing on maintaining control over The Pacific. The major thing they've done in this time was to take over The North Pacific for a month.

Francos Spain leaves a huge legacy in this game as far as inter-regional politics is concerned. In that field his legacy is IMHO unrivaled.
