Some nations including controlled by my friends and myself (1 each ofcourse) went and began our first regional invasion of the region credonian empire and allies, the founder credonia has now just mass ejected us all. Is this not an illegal practice as we were following the rules properly.

It's legal for you to invade the region. It's legal for the Founder to respond by throwing you all out.
The Founder may eject any and all nations from the region, at will, with or without reason, and without exception. There are no limits whatsoever on the ejection powers of a Founder.
