Paradise Club is spam?

Myrth keeps on moving the paradise club threads to spam. Why? It doesn't seem like spam to me.

My thoughts: there should be a new NS forum made for roleplay, but not like International Incidents. Like, roleplay that's not war, trade, ex. Would this be possible?

Are you trying to convince us that the Paradise Club is a form of role-playing?

I think the Paradise Club is spam, not in a bad way, but in a way that it should be created and kept over in the Jolt Spam forum.

The Paradise Club is not like The United Nations' Strangers Bar, which is UN role-play for UN leaders... the Paradise Club is just a general "talk" thread, and as such, doesn't, IMHO, have a place in General.

As I understand it, non-NationStates-related roleplays belong in "NationStates" > "General" or "jolt.co.uk public forums" > "Spam".

I believe that we NS Mods tolerate actual roleplays in "General" while chat threads (such as Paradise Club) go in "Spam". Since the distinction between roleplay threads and chat threads can get blurred, this will generally be up to the discretion of NationStates Moderators on a case-by-case basis.

my vote is to let it stay.

So, you're saying that if we make it more roleplayish, and get rid of the chat, then we can make it in "Nationstates"? Or are you saying that we can make it in "General" if we get rid of the chat aspect. I'm sorry, I didn't entirely catch what you just said.

I think some of the confusion has to do with the names of forums, so let me clear that up first.

On Jolt, we've got forums-in-forums-in-forums, like one of those old Russian dolls-in-dolls-in-dolls that I can't remember the name of. Consequently, the organizational heirarchy is complicated.

If you look at the top of the screen, you should see something like this:
jolt.co.uk public forums > Massive Multiplayer Online Games > NationStates > Nuts & Bolts > Moderation > Paradise Club is spam?

That's a complate map of where this topic is located on the Jolt forum organizational heirarchy. For simplicity, I may truncate this: Topics in the NationStates domain can be described as "NationStates" > "Moderation", or "NationStates" > "General". What we've always called the "NationStates board" is actually "NationStates" > "NationStates". If I need to refer to a forum outside the NationStates domain, I'll give a more complete path.

...

NationStates-related roleplays go in:
"NationStates" > "NationStates" or
"NationStates" > "International Incidents"
[More properly:
jolt.co.uk public forums > Massive Multiplayer Online Games > NationStates > Sound & Fury > NationStates
jolt.co.uk public forums > Massive Multiplayer Online Games > NationStates > Sound & Fury > International Incidents]

Non-NationStates roleplays may reside in:
"NationStates" > "General"
[More properly:
jolt.co.uk public forums > Massive Multiplayer Online Games > NationStates > Anything & Everything > General]

Chat threads go in:
"jolt general forums" > "Spam"
[More properly:
jolt.co.uk public forums > jolt general forums > Spam]

...and remember that this is still subject to Moderator discretion. If we think it's a chat-disguised-as-a-rolelplay, and it's not related to nations in NationStates, then we'll move it over to "jolt general forums" > "Spam".

...

Hopefully, this is a little clearer.

Paradise Club and its like are almost tradition in nationstates.

this is a problem about JOLT, now mods are integrating us with other forums. I was told before the move to jolt that we would be completely independant.

I dont see any flames in Paradise C. I dont see any trolls in Paradise C. I dont see why you guys cant give clubs more breathing room. Unlike the political threads, they arnt a breeding ground of arguement and flames.

you mods have abolished word games and shit like that-- at least let us have this. we are NOT bothering anybody.

I am just gonna add my comment here mates, I know basically a decision was made, but I have something to say, mostly cause I am a little drunk from loads and loads of pop.
Hasn't there always been places such as Paradise Club, like Farfetched Fantasy, Sunrise Towers, FF went up to 4 or 5, Sunrise Towers went to 6 or 7 different threads just for it. So whats the big deal with Paradise Club? It is the same thing, but this one is creating more controversary over spam than the others did. The end.
