I have reviewed both threads (but only very rapidly). He created the copy thread because he wanted to attach a poll. I think he mentioned that he stole your thread, so he's not claming credit for the idea. Hence, this is not thread copying and will not be locked for that reason.
The poll options may, however, constitute trolling, and may result in its being locked, anyway. I'll have to review it in detail later.
