Banned Why???

I got this message today after being banned and re-applying.
United Nations: Unforunately, after due consideration, the UN has been forced to reject your application to become a UN member. This is because your nation has been banned by the United Nations for past breaches of rules.

What rule did I break. I made a proposal to nuke the Middle East. What rule did I break by my proposal?

You can't submit proposals that threaten to "nuke" anyone.

Make a new nation and join the UN with it, you'll never get to join with that one.

That is a very good reason for someone to be banned. Now if they could do it to a lot of othe rpeople, the UN would be a better place.

Well I looked at the rules And I don't believe I broke any? Being Polliticaly Incorrect (whatever that means?) is not against the rules. I don't believe my proposal threatend anyone personally. Besides it was only a proposal! Just looking for clarification from a MOD.

For Kryozerkia. The world would be a better place without the UN. I'm talking real life not the game......

Go here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=282176), and you'll read rule number one, This is a nice and easy one to run through. Again, killing gays or burning Jews is obviously going to fail at this hurdle - no matter what political agenda you might follow, and also rule number three, Every now and then someone decides that making a pun about something (usually "The Right to Arm Bears" or "The Right to Bare Arms") would be clever. Beyond the fact that these jokes have appeared at least 25 times each in the proposal queue, the fact that they're not serious proposals will have them deleted.

OK I read that. I didn't propose to kill Jews or anything like that. I think my proposal falls under this category: Not Worthy of the UN's Consideration
This is rather a subjective thing and the good news is that it's only used very rarely. A classic example of a proposal which gets deleted under this rule is "We propose that the UN declare war on <nation>." While the role of the real-world UN might involve warfare and the waging thereof, it isn't for this body to fight wars.

Minor Offences
1. Minor game mechanics changes - where not covered above.
2. Incorrect categorisation of proposal.
3. Proposal not worthy of UN's consideration.
4. Real-world-based proposal.
5. Pathetic joke proposals - including but not limited to "against dihydrogen oxide" and "the right to arm bears".
6. Copied Proposals.
7. Amendment proposals.

Hardly a banning offense.

There's at least one other UN proposal rule that you broke.

If you were talking about nuking the real-life Middle East, then that's a proposal to take action on a real-life entity. That's not allowed because NationStates has no bearing on real life whatsoever.

If you were talking about nuking the NationStates region "Middle East", then that's a proposal to take action on a specific situation, nation, or region in NationStates. That's not allowed because UN proposals affect the numerical statistics of all UN member nations; you can't limit the scope of UN resolutions to particular targets in NationStates OR expand the scope to impose requirements or restrictions on non-UN member nations.

For the record, I am not the Moderator who handled your case.

OK I'll accept that, but no warning like you can't propose this, here is the reason why etc..? Just an outright ban?

First, though I think this is twisting things: The Middle East includes Israel, a Jewish state. Nuking the Middle East would kill Jews.

Second, the real reason: the UN shouldn't be used to start wars.

Actually, the Moderator who ejected you probably considered your proposal blatantly offensive. That's probably why you were ejected for only one bad proposal.

The proposal rules are on the "United Nations" board, topic "Before you make a proposal..." (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=282176).

Strange. The link to the propsal rules from the proposal submission page doesn't work. I'll have to ask an Admin to look at that.
