Legality of Holding UN?

I (and other raiders) wish to know the legallity of holding multiple UN applications with various nations under various e-mails but holding only one verified UN account.

According to the wording of the rules, this should be legal, as long as two nations aren't actually in the UN at any one time.

I do it all the time. It is completely legal, and it works fine. You'll be ejected if you have multiple UN members, but not multiple aplications.

I agree that it is probably legal, but for some reason I thought there was a thread on the old forum in which a mod forbade the activity. I could be wrong. In my old defending days I always had at least three in the waiting. Only once did I have to wait 24 hours to get a nation back in the UN, and oddly enough it was after this nation was ejected from the Pacific many, many moons ago! ;)

It is a risk you take. It is better to wait 24 hours, because the UN cheat scan is not infallible. It can easily mistake you for a multy. I remember having talked this over in a thread called "Almost a UN multy, but not yet." Salusa told me, that UN aplications expire after a certain time, and that the practice of having multiple aplications is legal, but it has a certain risk, if you accept one aplication to fast, after resigning with the other. That is why I never judge on non-invading nations, who appear to be multies. The UN multi scan is not perfect, and it is better to stay on the safe side. Remember; A nation that is not in the UN, can't be ejected from the UN ;)

This is a greyish area not declared illegal. So, legal, sort of, but depends on how one does it and the context in which it is done.

It is not without precedent for a mod to take action against someone when it is to be expected that person is about to violate the rules by having UN Multies, but hasn't done so yet. Those who have prior convictions for UN Multying should take special care because of this. Don't make it look as if you're about to (once again) invade a region using UN Multies.

Also, don't overdo it. If you have 100 UN applications outstanding I fully expect the mods to take a closer look and wonder why on Earth you'd do such a thing. Depending on what it looks like you're doing, bad things may happen then...
