Point Two: Unless I'm mistaken, that very first link belongs in Gameplay. The Gameplay forum is for the discussion of your nation, and that's what that thread is.

nation managment, as in how you make it an anarchy or civil lovefest, not stuff you just make up like RPers do..

cg is right. Stuff like this has been moved out of Gameplay before, everytime RPers tried to invade it and make it a third RP forum.

Most of them have now either been moved or locked.

It concerns RP, in the same sense that other discussions held in Gameplay concern regional politics, UN mechanics, regional management or what-have-you. Given that RolePlay is an aspect of the game, and discussion of it, therefore, is discussion of Gameplay, I'm suggesting that OOC posts concerning this aspect of the game be moved to the Gameplay forum.

No one's actually doing any RP in any of these threads, if you care to read them. They're just talking about it.

Why writing OOC in your posts, if you aren't even roleplaying? I say, if you have to state that your post is OOC, than there probably is some IC posting going on.

I'm pretty sure that SOP used to have it that RP-related OOC threads went into NS. Gameplay was more region-pimping, "how do I do so-and-so", and bitching about various invader / defender groups. Anything RP related went into NS. And anything storefront related went to II, hee

Why can't OOC threads go in NS or II? They're RP... I don't really care for the difference between discussing how to RP and actual RPing... It's still not the discussion of the mechanics and workings of Gameplay.

Gameplay has nothing to do with RP. Gameplay was created (or requested to be created) by Gameplayers who don't RP who had nowhere to chat. To put it bluntly, Gameplayers do not care about how you RP - IC or OOC or whatever acronym you want to use. We could care less about the size of Klonor's imaginary military, or how to make a storefront, or what kind of tech you think we should use. We care about regional politics, invading, defending, creating and manging regions, real stuff in NS. Like cg said...

They do raise a valid point. Up until yesterday, all the OOC stuff went into NS (which is why I kept posting it there and Melkor kept moving it). When did it change to Gameplay?

An idea being floated is the renaming and re-describing of the Gameplay forum to imply it's non-RP threads only [which it presently doesn't] and the creation of a proper OOC roleplay forum for discussing OOC matters, arguing about IC actions and possibly also to put all the storefronts in one place.

Since it's my idea, I obviously support it.

No :p But it's how I see it anyway. RP = all text and imagination, I'm not saying that's a wrong way to play the game or anything, but it doesn't have much actual basis in the mechanics of NS.

I don't see any problems with this idea. If you need an OOC forum, and we don't want you to use Gameplay, it makes sense to create a fourth forum.

Although I haven't RPed in a while, I always thought the name and description of that forum didn't fit what it was actually intended for. Since both NS and II are IC forums, and GP is intended strictly for the "mechanical" side of the game (for lack of a better term), an OOC RP forum is needed.
