Correct. If you have useful information to impart it doesn't matter if you're a mod or not, the forum titles and lack of moddy powah on your part should be enough of a clue for most people as to that.

I'd like to know as well, because I thought it was a particularly good idea.

I'll admit, there were some times when the little not a mod tag seemed kind of redundant, but I thought it was an overall good idea as well. This change in policy kind of came out of the blue as well. I wonder why.

I know that this site is not a democracy, but this is kinda unexpected here.

I think my mocking sig illustrates the point I made there. Some mods are annoyed by it, others say you have to.

Well if that is the new concensus then this forum needs to be renamed or removed,

I was under the impression that it was here to give the players a place to request assistance and others a place to render assistance if they could.
This not being the case.
Moderation needs to be closed. As it is a Trap of sorts to persons simpley trying to render aid.

Er... that doesn't follow.

GMC is saying that we don't need players posting "<---- Not A Mod" at the bottom of their posts, not that we don't want them offering assistance.

Considering the title of this thread is "We don't care that you're not a mod", I don't see how you made the leap that you did. And, seriously, if we were making such a sweeping change to how a specific forum was to be used, don't you think there'd be a touch more text?

How does it mean that? It means, as I said:

Put simply, the 'not a mod' tag is unnecessary and a lot of people find it fairly annoying.

Honestly, what I find most annoying are people who troll, break the rules, or flame, then come post in moderation asking The Powers that Be to clean up their messes -- but that's me.
