To the Mod Who Deleted My Flag

The New Aryan State

Fair enough, mate. Didn't know there were specific 'Not To Be Put On Flag' images. Mod's word is law, and all that. I've got a new one which is related to the old, but not (I hope) illegal. Just wanted to keep in with the 'Nazi State' idea. :)

<------- Not a mod

This rule is very simple: "No swastika on Max's site!"

There is nothing wrong with your new one. Just as Nazi-like, and still far within the rules 8)

That's not quite true. They can't be used on flags, but they can be used in the forums for RP purposes and such.

Correct. Swastikas are not allowed on flags, but they are allowed on the forums.

Because the wind is high
It blows my mind

Its a good thing no-one ever insisted that administrative decisions on NS be logical.

It's quite simple:

Use a swastika on a flag, it can't be debated right then and there.

Use a swastika in a post, and it can.

Logic. So nyah.

Is this definite then? At the end of last month moderators not only removed swatika images from the following thread, but also deleted links I gave to a site which was about the history of the swastika:

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=147280

The last we heard was the announcement that:

We'll discuss the matter and get back to everyone with a decision/clarification. Please be patient. Thank you.

Which was made in this thread:

I have to say that I was quite irked at the time when the posts I made were edited by the mods, despite apparently being clearly within the rules of the site.

You know this is the first Swastica flag deletion I can recall where the person said something but didnt go off and yell and scream about injustice,

Very Admirable.

Didn't know there were specific 'Not To Be Put On Flag' images.

I find it very strange that the 'upload your own flag' page still does not state that swastikas are not permitted.

Edit: I suppose an apology from the mod that had the misunderstanding and started editing and censoring our legitimate posts would be out of the question?

Very Admirable.Indeed. I was rather suprised to see a thread about flag deletion unlocked.

And I think adding that to the upload page would be good. The newbies don't know about that rule, most likely.

Is it on the terms and conditions page?

Eventually everyone reads it. It may have taken me a year and insane amounts of boredom, but I did it.

I'll just add a note here saying - no, it is not listed on the "terms & conditions" page, nor in the FAQ.

There is also no sign of an apology from the mods concerning the "misunderstanding" over use of swastikas on the forum... ...but, hey, they might not have seen these posts yet.

Yup, and I knew it was alright when I made those posts which were subsequently altered and censored by the mods. A brief "sorry" is all I was after: it just seemed appropriate when the mods accidently overstepped their bounds.

Still, whinging about it will get us nowhere.

True. It is a rare thing for a mod to apologize. I've only seen it twice, and I've been here a while. (As you have.)

They are allowd as flags I mean I had one for a flag once and no one said anything. And I was at a region where like every one eather had a swastika or hitler as a flag.

No. They are not.

You may have had them ten months ago, but then it was banned. For a while, so was the SS flag, but that was just silly. You are no longer allowed to have one as a flag and if someone has one, according to the rules, you should report them with a Response to Mod in the Getting Help area of the FAQ.
