What is the official policy regarding RP posts containing sex and violence?

Oooo oooo ooo!!!

*raises hand*

As long as there's a warning in the title, it should be ok. HOWEVER, I don't think the mods like explicit sexuality in threads though.

Unless I'm completely wrong.....

Put a warning in the title. If they read it and get offended anyway, they knew what they had coming.

Extremely explicit sex isn't really allowed, everything else is ok as long as there's some point to it within the post, and as long as there's an appropriate warning [18+ / graphic violence / etc]

Warnings on the thread label are more or less required. Generally speaking, this is not the appropriate venue for porn stories. If you really want, there are other sites specialized for such, and their audiences will probably appreciate it more. Check over the archives for examples of what is generally considered within the limits.

Provided it's tastefully done, relevant, doesn't involve bypassing any filters, doesn't include images or links that are inappropriate for the site, and any appropriate warnings are attached, we won't have a problem with it.

"OMG MY CHARACTERS HAVE SEX!" will probably qualify has pointless spam.

As far as violence goes, we tend to be fairly lenient - people do a lot of war RPs in here, and it's hard to have wars without excessive violence. Again, however, please keep things relevant, and truly graphic violence needs a warning label attached.
