I've not seen any of the "battle of the bands" threads.
All I know is that, if they - in any way - resemble the "Idol" type
programmes IRL (i.e. they're the NationStates equivalent etc) then
I hate them, too.
But obscure music is a different kettle of fish altogether.

Well, a bunch of them are from Amerigo. And those are part of one whole big battle of the bands. So most of those threads asre just one contest. When the contest is over, the battle of the bands threads should rapidly deplete.
