Founder question

03-06-2004, 00:45
If a region's foinder dies, is there any way that the all-powerful mods could make another nation the founder. I am soon to be the delegate of the Capitalist Alliance, having gotten the former more authoritarian delegate to step down. We are not an invader region, and have no desire to be; we are merely a collection of like-minded nations. In fact, we are trying to rebuild the region to its former glory (we have lost over 3/4 of our membership since i first joined). However, at this time, we have few nations, and a deceased founder. As such, we are worried about our own security.

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but i do not normally engage in regional affairs. However, i could not sit and watch my first region dies such an ignoble death.

If it is within your power, would it be possible to have another nation replace our deceased founder? I thank you for your consideration.

The moderators do not appoint Founders anymore except in extreme circumstances.

<--- not a mod.

Well, i'm not sure what an extreme circumstance is. But since it seems it is within their powers, i ask the mods to consider our case. All we want is security so that we may build the type of region we wish. We have no malicious intent. It is almost impossible to attract people to a region in which you cannot guarantee security.

Should we be granted this favor, and i find that our intentions have changed toward something more malicious, then i will personally leave the region. And then let its own devices destroy it. That is the only pledge i can give you. If the region shall attempt to become an invader, then i will have no part of it, and would let it fend for itself.

I ask you to help this once-proud region of almost 100 regain some of the prestige it has lost. With our security secured, then perhaps, we can concentrate fully on rebuilding instead of being suspicious of every nation which tries to enter. Though obviously most do not have wicked intentions, it would only take a very small number to throw the region into chaos.

I eagerly await your response.

Sorry, but we don't grant founderships.

Your only option is to have everyone leave the region, then refound it after it's deleted at the update.

I thank you for your consideration... i knew it was a long-shot to begin with, but wasn't sure if you had a standing policy. Though i do hope you would reconsider (as i feel losing 3/4 of our membership to be a dire case indeed), i will respect your decisions and will not post any more requests.

Hopefully, you'll see this: Just be careful if you decide to read this post. Refounding a region is a risky task, because sometimes you have "hawkers" who will refound your region in their name beating you to do it yourself. So just be weary if you decide to do so.

<--- not a mod but I just took up hawking a few weeks ago, the good hawking though.

I actually thought about that... which is one reason i attempted to get a mod intervention to help the region out of its problems. I do not possess the skills necessary to organize something like that; in fact, this is my first real attempt at regional politics. I thank you for your warning, though.
