Banning Clubs/Taverns/Inns/Coffeshops/Cafes/etc....
I understand that you were going to start banning these pure chat threads (which, since most of the great Generalites are gone, are annyoing newbie haunts). When shall you start?

WTH?! banning chat threads? why? because we're not arguing all the time about things over which we really have no control? come on now.
I think banning all this stuff takes away the point of general.....will anything be allowed on the new server?

As far as some of us are concerned, 6 months is still a newbie. It all depends on who you ask.
Frankly, I think the idea of deleting chat threads solely because they've "become newb haunts" is a ludicrous idea. Communities change over time; get used to it. The issue of chat threads themselves, however, has other reasons to be considered/regulated, e.g. the 65 page limit.
As far as those newbs are concerned, they probably are doing just about what you were doing in those chat threads a few months back.

Ya know...there was a day when things like this were held sacred. When people would rally out in the dozens to protect them. Heck, I come back and find word games outlawed.... <sighs> I don't see why they should be considered spam any more than much of the other stuff that goes on in general.
If the general forum is changing so much that chat and rp threads are not welcome there...then where the heck are we supposed to go. Do yall know how boring it is to do nothing except fight, and war, and do diplomacy, and argue politics, and the like.... They're a lighthearted way to ease up the serious mood, and I'd say they save alot of people from getting banned. It's alot harder to insult someone if you start knowing who they are.(usually lol)
Ahhh well....And if they're just newbie haunts...then perhaps I don't want to be a veteran player.
