Regional Recruiting Telegrams

I am tired of being accused of breaking the rules by nations that do not know the rules of the site. I had one nation report me today for violating this rule, though I am quite sure (unless I missed something) that it is perfectly legal to do so as long as you aren't spamming someone's inbox.

Is it legal or illegal to send one message per nation to recruit for a region?

If this has already been answered, officially, will someone direct me to the proper thread?

I would like a moderator response, preferably, but others are welcome to share their thoughts and direct me to the right place (if possible).

Only one message is not so bad, but my founder also get messages to join another region. That is spam in its purest form. No consideration that I am already founder of my own region. They simply spam.

I never send more than one message, and I carefully pick who I send them to, usually just founded nations and such.

I'd never send one to a Founder or a UN Delegate. Haha.

What if you just recruit from the UN applicant pool?

UN members can be delegate, or founders too.

I realise that, I've never intentionally tried to recruit a founder.
Which reminds me it's been a slow week...
Not many people coming in :(

I usually recruit those who have just been admitted to the UN.

If you ask a moderator, they will say: "Do NOT spam!". So there is not much point to this thread :P Spamming is an deletable offence.

Ah, but we've just agreed that spamming is sending more than one mail to one person, also we didn't agree on a fixed duration, like I don't know recruiting for 2h non stop per day is OK while anything more isn''t...

You are so far off, I don't know where to begin. Spam has nothing to do with the number of messages, and certainly nothing to do with the time duration.

If they do not know the rules of this site and report you, I don't think the mods would do too much about it. You've always seemed a reasonably level headed player to me (at least in this forum, I lurk a lot )

"Yeahhh....I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there, Bob." (Ten points if you can tell me what movie that's from.) If you send ten messages, all in the space of twenty minutes, I'd call that spam. If you send ONE message to twenty different nations, I'd call that spam, too.

However, I'm not a mod, so none of this matters too much. ;)

I still do not see an official moderator response in that topic of this one, I would like to hear from a moderator when they get a chance.

I have been recruiting this way openly for the last two months with no warnings from the moderation crew.

I do believe in this form of recruitment as the most viable way to bring in members, and wish to know whether or not I should file appeal to be allowed to do so.

I will continue to do so until I am warned or told otherwise by a moderator.

I usually recruit those who have just been admitted to the UN.

Spamming is sending out pointless TGs or sending the same one more than once.

I don't mean to pester this topic, but I'd like a moderator response/ruling if at all possible.

If some of us are being warned for regional recruiting via telegram, and others are not, that is unfair. Seeing how the moderation team is a fair bunch of people, I am simply asking for a conclusion to whether or not telegramming nations for recruitment is legal or illegal.

I'd appreciate some sort of response, thank-you.

I'll discuss this with the other mods and get back to you. For now, though, I suggest that you just stick to advertising in "Gameplay", in the feeder regions, and in "The Rejected Realms".

Yes, that is correct: You are not being silently stalled; you are being paid lip service and then stalled... :D

...until I can get the matter straightened out.
