Word Game proposal for General Forum

please hear me out before you pass judgment on the thought.

General seems to be falling into a pit of distrust and ill-feelings recently. i wont point any fingers, but there have been alot of people upset my things and some things that shouldnt have been said there that are pushing the moral there ever lower. so my proposal is this:
The word game was always something you could do to pass away the minutes while waiting for a response on one of the other threads. i realize that they really only servered to be a place for saying a jumble of words that really had no relation to one another, but they where fun for us none the less. so, to lighten the mood in General, prehaps we could be allowed to have one and only one Word Game thread at a time. we all know that the posts that we put into the thread will go away once the thread has reached 65 pages, or if we dont, then we could put it at the top oc the first page of it announcing such, so we woudnt complain about it. it would only be one thread, so how much bandwidth could it take up compared to the rest of the site.
before it was locked, i had a thread going on this subject in General (i know, i know, wrong forum. i just wanted to gage how many suported my proposal), and the poll was 12 to 5 in favor of, before it was locked.
all im asking is that we are given one chance to try it. if it turns out that it sparks more word games, then we could put an end to them for good, no questions asked.

my General thread is linked, for your further review

i think thats everything. let me know if you have any further questions.
thanks for considering

This isn't the worst idea in the world. What about even deleting the word games when they hit 65 pages, so as to reduce the strain?

i thought that was understood. they really hold no purpose once they are locked, so yes, by all means they should be deleted after they reach the 65 page limit.

We were doing this, anyway.

All threads are purged locked once they hit 65 pages.

I don't think it's going to happen. The thing is, the moderators are not bound by popular sentiment. What they are bound by is what is good for the greater part of the community.

What is best for, and what is liked by, the players are often seperate things. It is for the greater good of the server that word games continue to be banned, and I don't see that likely to change any time soon.
