(Appeal to Moderators)

As you may be aware if you click myy name and follow the links to my region it has no region founder, what several of us in our region want to know is this: Is it possible for the moderators (or anyone) to update our region to give us a regional founder? This is purly to protect us from region crashing (as has happened twice now). If that is not possible then i would like to know if it is possible for us to 'refound the region,' as in delete it and then make a new one again, by the same name with a new founder.

mods only do that in extreme cases..

Founders were appointed when the Founder feature was still new (about a year ago). Founders are not now appointed unless we Moderators judge a situation to be exceptional. I'm not familiar with your case, so I don't know if you qualify; I'll consult the other Moderators when I have time.

This is possible. If everyone evacuates the region voluntarily (read: "You don't mass eject nations from the region"), then the region will auto-delete for being empty and you can then refound the region yourself. If a couple of nations in your region are inactive, then your Delegate may eject them from the region. Since you have an internally-elected Delegate (that is, the Delegate is not an invader from outside the region), he/she may impose a password so that noone can get in.

If someone in your region is active and refuses to evacuate, then you cannot refound the region.

Be forewarned that anyone may refound a region that has been voluntarily evacuated, so someone you don't know may refound the region before you do and may not be willing to let you in. This is legal under NationStates rules and it's a risk you'll have to accept.

You can minimize the risk if you refound the region shortly after a system update on NationStates. There's a major update every day starting at about 4 or 5 AM USA Eastern time, with a minor update every day starting at about 4 or 5 PM USA Eastern time (if I remember correctly). Empty regions are auto-deleted at both the major and minor updates (again, if I remember correctly).

As a backup plan, I recommend that you decide on an alternate region name to use. To have to evacuate to somewhere, anyway, so if you don't succeed in refounding your region, you can always stay in the alternate region. Additionally, you (presumably) created the alternate region, so you should be Founder of the alternate region.

We know, and that is one of the reasons why we wanted a founder made without having to leave the nation.
