UN resolutions cannot have effects on non-members.

I am very sorry for unknowingly violating NS policy.

The offending clause:

Be it further resolved that full sanctions be imposed on all non-UN nations that do not adopt the same policies.

Has been changed to:

Be it further resolved that full sanctions be imposed against any UN nations that do not immediately cease to conduct trade with; and give military aid to any nation, state, corporation or collective that does not adopt the terms of this resolution. So that it does not impose UN sanctions against non-UN nations.

Thank you.

You can't force sanctions against UN member nations either. That's mechanics.

Bah. Any suggestions for enforcement? I've already started my TG bank, and it would be nice if I could get a 'legal' proposal on the table as soon as possible. Can you erase the current one if it is indeed illegal? Thanks. :)

Wait... what if I insert an OOC clause specifying that the sanctions are RP sanctions rather than 'game' sanctions?

Basically, it *is* enforced in all UN nations if it passes [unless someone wants a smuggling / illegal arms RP, which is potentially interesting]. You say nukes are banned, then a deduction is made from the stats and it goes on the list saying nukes are banned. Someone still uses nukes then it's a matter for your own RP to sanction them, not for the body of the resolution.

Can the resolution disallow UN nations to trade with non-compliant nations? I mean, the UN has already put environmental constraints on international trade, why not no-nuke constraints?

I'd want a second mod opinion on that, but personally I'd say no; banning nations from trading in a resolution seems like mechanics to this program.

Greetings, programs!

Is there any sort of working definition of 'mechanics' as per UN proposals? I was under the impression that only the express decleration of/request of a new game feature or modification of an existing game feature counted. What this proposal stated though could be misinterpreted as a request for the modification of a nonexistant game feature. It is though expressly meaningless in game terms as no international trade feature exists, and it most certainly does not declare or request the creation of such a feature.
