Explanation of Foxxinnia's DEAT?

Because even the mods need to explain themselves.

Was that why he/she was DEATed? Holy crap...so we're not allowed to be sarcastic and attempt to maintain good humor in the midst of tension?

Oh sure, you're perfectly allowed. Spam, on the other hand, is unappreciated.

As you can plainly see, me and Foxx are two different people.

However, he requests his nation be restored. He vows not to go on the forums (did I get that right?)

If said nation was deleted for rule violations, the nation won't be restored. Tell him to file a complaint with admin@nationstates.net if he feels justified. Otherwise, just give it up.

Because filing a complaint really gets results :x

I have registered a number via the getting help page, most of which have been completely ignored by the mods.

My advice, don't even bother making a complaint, just save your time and create a new nation :!:

Was that thread really why Foxxinia was Deated? Were warnings given first? There seems to be a new tenor to mod actions in general forum that is disturbing to say the least.

.And complaining rudely in the Moderation forum is going to get better results? I think not, more likely, just another deletion. Better a complaint ignored than for you to suffer the same fate as Fox, eh? The mods are busy, there’s bound to be complaints that slip by, that’s life. Also, what may seem important to you may not be vitally important for them. Not to say they don’t wish to help, but I’m sure they have a priority list of complaints, maybe your complaints rated low on the list?

Perhaps he was warned for something before-hand? Maybe he’s a compulsive spammer and that was the final straw? If I’m right, the rule is one warning, and anything beyond that is determined on a case by case basis, so you can be deated justly after the 1st warning. So, perhaps he was living on barrowed time, so to speak? I think you’ve failed to consider the entire scenario present.

Or maybe I’m totally off, since I’m not a mod I don’t know

Maybe 'General' should be renamed to something like 'Political Discussion'? Then there wouldn't be any ambiguity.

*sorry if this is double or triple post, NS forum not working properly.

Nah, just rename it "geeks and geezers"; truth in advertising.

The mods do keep extensive lists of all violations. Thus, anything noted on your record would appear during the time you play the game.

Never seen a record on me before.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not there.

Correct.

We do maintian records. These records are not visible to ordinary players.

Well how am I suppose to know how close I am to breaking that thin line if I can't see the map?
Easy. You know it's there. You know roughly where it is. Don't come close.

The problems you, and many others encounter, is that you are always trying to live right on the edge. And when someone steps over, you complain that there is no precise, to-the-letter definition of whatever. But if there was, we both know you would exploit every loophole to the fullest. So the advice is simple, stop habitually pushing your luck.

Ohh...

That makes sense.

'Don't push your luck'
Maybe I should make that my country's motto if I get it back.
Every time I log in I see the words 'Don't Push Your Luck.'
Could work to tone me down a notch or two.

--The Democratic States of CogitationHow do you define 'The Dark Side'?
Like the dark side of the moon. I've never been there.

How do you define 'The Dark Side'?
"Whoa. Never been here. No man's land. They say there's trip mines everywhere. Hmm. Maybe just one little step -"
It doesn't help me when you speak in riddles man.
It's not a riddle, it's an analogy. When you know you're taking risks, stop. If you decide to carry on regardless, don't complain and act suprised when it backfires.

Oh, okay. Well I still would like a definition of 'The Dark Side' from Cogi-gation.

Foxx, welcome to the "i got my ass kicked by steph" club. its not that big of a deal man... get yourself a nice surname like Foxx the masta blasta, or Foxx Incarnate and just keep on rollin.

try not to spam as blatantly as before, and keep clear of messing to much with the mods and you wont get deated again.

Oh, okay. Well I still would like a definition of 'The Dark Side' from Cogi-gation.

It's a refence to a work of science-fiction/fantasy called Star Wars. If you've never seen Star Wars, then you probably wouldn't understand. I could go into detail, but a discussion of Star Wars would warrant it's own separate topic.

Basically, I just mean: Stay far away from questionable forum behavior. If in doubt, then ask a moderator, first (and expect that the answer might very well be "No, don't do it.")
