while this is a good game, the "Come to this region" messages got to stop..Some one should try and program governors that prevent these annoying things from being posted...

Well, I'd hate recuitment messages too, unless I lived in the Pacific regions, which is where I believe it is okay to recruit. So if you don't want to receive anymore legal recruitments, I'd move to a new region. For I believe it is illegal to ask a nation to move if it is in a User Created region. So it'd be nice to make sure ALL nations knew that YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO RECRUIT IN USER CREATED REGIONS! (Then maybe I'd stop getting telegrams to move also, but it is against the rules to invite me for I am in a user created region). Hope my idea makes sense.

I believe you can't post recruiting messages in player made regions. But i have always recruited (telegrams) from player created regions and have no knowledge that is it illegal.

Firstly, this is a Moderationy type thingymawhatsit. Hence  Moderation.

Secondly, advertising on regional boards of player-created regions is an OMG CRIME. If someone does it, post here and a moderator will verify it and warn the offender.

there must be some script out there that shoots these out.

I don't play around on the forums much - but I keep getting them.

I keep replying NO!

Perhaps limiting nations under 200 million to 10 contacts a day might help since most of the ones I get are from nations with 6 to 10 million population.

Well recruitment messages get people to join my region.

Hmmm, well I know about the no posting on regional message boards, but what about recruiting telegrams, more then once when I've left then re-joined the U.N. have I gotten several "Hey, New U.N. Member, Come Join Us" style telegrams from regions. Which completely ignore I run my own region, and my nation has existed here a darn'd bit longer here then they have,

Now, is this exactly legal ? By the by, they were working for player made regions... If its of any import.

Recruiting TGs are okay, so long as you don't TG it more than once to a given nation. It doesn't matter where those TG are sent to, if it's a player-created region or a feeder region. However, posting recruitment messages on CH boards is free game in the RR and the Pacifics, but a no-no on the player-created regional CH boards.

How else are we supposed to build our regions without the ability to recruit?

A good recruiter knows how to, without braking the rules. It is okay to advertise in any of the feeder regios, once a day.

Might try using the Gameplay Forum, as that's sort of one of its primary purposes.

I think recruiting messages are a part of the game, whether we like it or not, it just wouldnt be the same without them

In the forums. get involved. talk.

What you DON'T do as a 6-10 million size nation is go to a nation of over 2 billion who's the founder of the region, that has ONE puppet nation in the region, and ask them to join.

It's annoying.

In fact - If we EVER do get a push button war thing going - I'll automate the telegram recieved to immmediately trigger a holocost on the offending nation. My region's been stockpiling since its inception - so we've got tons of ordinace to "decomission"...

Hah - On a whim I decided to see if anyone had stolen my "Humor troll" - But they didn't - So now I have TWO puppets!

Humor Troll is now going to telegram everyone to come join my nation.

Kindly consider yourselves telegrammed and the telegram deleted to save time for me.

Thank you.

Thanks for saving me the time, Humor Troll! :D

Seriously, region building cannot be conducted solely off of the Gameplay Forum. I've tried to be as unobtrusive in building my region, but as a result I have 31 nations right now. That's it.

If you leave the UN and then later rejoin it, I guess you are opening yourself up to getting spammed. My suggestion is that if you never want to hear from that recruiter again, just hit that ignore button in your telegram screen. Problem solved. I've done this several times when recruiters wish to try and recruit me out of my own region.

I think the bottom line is that recruiting is a big part of this game. There are a lot of players with myriad ideas about how a region should be. If you reside in a feeder region you can do two things to reduce spamming. One, you can try and maintain conversations on the civil hq to drive out the recruiting messages. Hopefully, recruiters will learn one day that it is best to send personal invites rather than merely post a message (I think that's a lazy approach as well). And two, you can get the t-gram and hit the ignore button. For those of you who switch UN nations like night and day, well you should know that you will probably get targetted by recruiters anyway.

Only problem with that is I've never been in the U.N. - one of my Puppets takes care of that.

I still get recruitment messages. And I don't need them ;)

Heh... welcome to my world.

Of course, the damn oddest are the people asking me to help their proposal reach quorum. I'm not even in the UN, let alone a Delegate. Feh.

I love how the Delegate guide says I will ignore any direct requests for support, that all requests and lobbying must be handled via the offsite forum.

and I get lobbies all the time,

and when I telle them my policy for dealing with Lobbying they respam me,
I dont like to add people to my ignore list cause I dont know how to un add them and I may actually want to talk to them later but Im nearly to the point of adding them.

as for spam, it serioulsly disrupts the EP, and we currently have a counter recruitment spam program,

although I do want to know, I know other region delegates are allowed to clear spam Are Pacific Delegates allowed to clear spam from the region?

At the bottom of the Telegram page there should be a drop-down menu to remove ignored people, much like cleaning your ban-list.
