Could we have a bit more enforcement of part 3 of the Ruling on the General Forum? It seems that many of the Forum 7ites are determined to hijack/spam up General....well thats where it all was before F7 existed so thats where it,s reverted to; it is "general" after all not "politics"
Anyway, moving on; are we gonna get F7 back after the Jolt move? If nothing else it'll keep the spam/fun out of sight of some of the touchier "generalites"

Various ideas are being discussed. However, there will be no de facto spam forum. If anything, the rules on spam are likely to be tightened.
Forum 7 was always going to be temporary.

I am leery of this "tightening"; it seems likely to favor some forms of innocent amusement at the expense of others.
As i said before, there was plenty of spam in General with and without F7. If anything, it lightens the load in general.
Besides, most of it wasn't spam. We were just having fun.
I don't really care about my postcount. Yes, i wish i had my few hundred posts from f7 back, but i wasn't ever concerned with my postcount. And peolpe stopped the whole "postcount+1" long before f7 was shut down.
So tighten the spam rules, but give us back forum7

It is technically possible to shut postcount off, for a certain forum. That might not work here, but maybe it works on the new forum. Without postcount, the need for spamming will surely lessen.

true...What's the point of the postcount anyway?

You are quite correct. The idea of disabling postcount incrementation in General has a certain elegance about it.
