The Ellandar Problem

The Bruce

My Greetings to All and Sundry,

Ellandar (AKA: Ellandar Corporation, Ellandriel, East Compton, Tim Sucks, Ellandria-land, Astreven, Ganumf, Gurthengrad, Devon-shire, and many, many others) has now stooped to the point of spamming our region in the middle of a recruiting drive, in addition to continually sending his puppets here in an attempt to gain power or disrupt the Region. After a couple of months of this behavior I have lost all patience with this player and their abuse of their dial-up modem. I am tired of being inundated with telegrams from his latest puppets and ignoring them just means that new ones will be created.

Every Region they go to, starting with Equilism, the first thing they do is to create an opposing group of Puppets, which they claim to have stolen their identity. Then they attempt to cause a conflict in the target region to destabilize it and gain influence and power there, mostly by reducing the Region’s business to dealing with spam and griefing. The most current activities of this player can be found by creating an “enemy” region of puppets “An Ellandar Commonwealth” and having them oppose the Ellandar Commonwealth, resulting in spam all over the Nation States World to seek greater attention from others, my Region included.

I recognize the problem The Bruce mentions as Founder of Equilism and I have been reporting to the mods about this problem already several times. Though the problem keeps continuing while we can't really do anything about it besides banning the puppets coming into the region. I agree with The Bruce that this has gone too far, we are really getting tired of this and we just want this to stop.

Yes it has indeed gone too far. The fellow now has several puppet regions and God only knows how many puppet nations he has now. I think we should just start calling him 'Legion'.

He has multied through different IP addresses, so apparently the mods have bought his story of being impersonated. Too bad, because he just keeps on doing it over and over again. He left us alone for a bit, only to come back and harrass us again. Then we ban him and he comes back again after a couple weeks and spams our HQ once again. I guarentee he'll keep doing it. Our regions' members are getting really tired of it, to put it mildly.

"getting really tired of it" is an understatement. A huge understatement. A Mt. Everest understatement. A distance from here to the other side of the galaxy understatement. I think you get my point.

We should get rid of Ellandar.

We should definitely get rid of Ellandar, it's as Defaultia said, 'getting really tired of him' is an understatement.

It isn't up to you to decide who should be deleted and who should not. If the mods find someone is in transgression of the rules, they will deal with it if/when it is brought to their attention.

This isn't "bringing it to their attention"?

I added the emphasis. This is what I posted in reference to.

I don't have time to investigate this right now, but hold on to any telegrams that you were sent and file a Getting Help report (if you haven't already done so).

Raem is correct. If we Moderators decide that deletion is called for, then that is what we will do.

Ellandar is in my region, and though I have heard the story you all said, I find it hard to beleive that he would go to all this trouble, whats the point?

So that leads me to beleive he hasnt actually done anything wrong as such

I run an offsite forum and have IP-banned Ellandar and his clones for trolling, agitating, trying to start wars with other regions, and generally causing trouble.

This required banning a certain IP range to get rid of his dynamic IP and I killed a couple of other statics that he was using as well. I am willing to give this IP information to the moderators, should they need them for their own use. If you want them mods, please feel free to telegram me.

The mods have IP scanners, and are quite capable of handing out an IP ban if necessary. However, once again, it's their decision as to what to do if they decide he has broken the rules. For all you know, they've dealt with the problem already.

Agitating for a deletion or an IP ban isn't your place.

Shut up Raem. Just because they can't delete them doesn't mean they can't want to delete them. And in expressing their wish to have him deated, they're adding emphasis. Stop acting like you're a mod (or sucking up to them, if that's what you're doing).

The mods can't IP ban someone from the game. Only [violet] can.

Gentlemen.

It was not my intention to agitate for or against Ellandar. I simply wished to be of assistance if it was required by the mods. I related my personal experience with Ellandar to explain why and how I came to be in possession of his IP addresses and why I would be willing to share them with the moderators or game admins if they requested that information.

Raem, I am perfectly aware that the moderators will make their own decisions in their own time. I'm simply offering to provide further information should they feel their investigation warrants it.

If you cannot tell the difference between the rules and sucking up, then I feel very sorry for you, indeed. Perhaps you'd like to go run your own forum, so you can sit on your little throne and play god. Until then, your behavior on this site is governed by rules. I am aware of the rules, I am aware of my place as a player. I am aware that flamebaiting is against the rules.

So, if you'd be so kind, shut the hell up until you figure out the difference between brown nosing and existence. The fact remains that the mods are the (almost) final arbiters on this site, and it is their job to enforce the rules. I am not sucking up to the mods by saying that, I am not pretending to be a mod by pointing out that it's not your place to ask to have someone deleted.

Or perhaps you'd like me to stop reminding people of that, and go start a thread demanding your deletion for flamebaiting. Thank you, the rules exist for a reason. Sit down.
