Are mass ejections legal in a refounding?

The Bintopia thread “What/Where is procedure for appointing a Founder?” has turned into a discussion of whether mass ejections from a region are a legal move to enable the refounding of a founderless region.

We would appreciate comments about that (from a mod?).

Please post in THAT thread:

I have a similar question so I'm gonna post it hear.
The founder of a region was deated. Later the same person managed to get the delegate seat with the approval of the majority natives (an elections). Is it illegal to eject and unban the natives and then refound the region?
Thank you in advance!

well, last case i saw, was when the savage lands got deleted (he was the founder of our region).
he gained delegacy with another nation, but wasn't allowed to clear out the region to refound it.

hope that helps ;)

Correct.

Foundership is a property of nations, not of players. If you lose the Foundering nation for whatever reason (inactivity, modbombing, whatever), then you lose Founder rights. Using a non-Founder puppet to mass eject is a violation of NationStates rules, even if you control the Founder nation.

An internally-elected Delegate (id est, NOT an invading Delegate) may first eject a small number of nations that are inactive... and then impose a password and ask everyone else to leave.
